ResumoAbstract A silicone rubber stent has been used successfully in the treatment of patients with unresectable major airways obstruction. Silicone rubber does not generate secretions in the tracheobronchial tree and may be left in situ for long periods without complications. With effective relief from asphyxia, radiotherapy can be employed safely.
