ResumoIntroduction: the lack of epidemiological data about leg ulcers in Brazil justifies this study.So, the aim of that research was to estimate the prevalence of leg ulcers.Methods: epidemiological prevalence study, by conglomerates, performed at Bandeirantes city -PR, Brazil, between August-November 2012.Results: 1,499 individuals participated on the study.Prevalence was 6/1,000 persons, with major occurrence between women and elder people.Discussion: Prevalence found was higher than other studies like those preformed in Spain and Portugal, and the profile of the people was very similar to literature.
