Resumo

This paper presents the governing equations of electrostrictive materials. The stress and electric field solutions for an infinite plate with a rigid elliptic conductor under applied load at infinity are given. The asymptotic expansions of the solution for a narrow elliptic conductor show that the stresses and the electric fields near the end of a narrow elliptic conductor possess r−1 and r−1/2 forms respectively in a local coordinate system with the origin at its focus.
