ResumoMicroorganisms can metabolize many aliphatic and aromatic organic contaminants, either to obtain carbon and/or energy for growth, or as co-substrates, thus converting them to products such as carbon dioxide, water, chloride and biomass. These biotransformations can be exploited for treatment of contaminated soils and ground water.
