Dermatologic cosmetic laser surgery has greatly evolved over the last 30 years. Today's lasers can treat a wide gamut of vascular and pigmented lesions, as well as tattoos, with a high degree of success and minimal incidence of scarring. In addition, with some refinements, older laser systems are playing a renewed role in the cosmetic dermatologic surgeon's armamentarium. Dermatologic cosmetic laser surgery is one of the most exciting and rapidly growing areas in the field of cosmetic surgery.
