Abstract This article analyzes the “relación de sucesos” about the death of Elizabeth of Portugal written in verse by Antón Delgado in 1539. Both the dialogue between the Death and the Empress as well as the description of the transportation of her body from Toledo to Granada are analyzed in depth. The details included in this poetic composition make this an interesting text from both a literary and historical perspective.
