Sharp features in the primordial power spectrum are a powerful window into the inflationary epoch. To date, the cosmic microwave background (CMB) has offered the most sensitive avenue to search for these signatures. In this paper, we demonstrate the power of large-scale structure observations to surpass the CMB as a probe of primordial features. We show that the signatures in galaxy surveys can be separated from the broadband power spectrum and are as robust to the nonlinear evolution of matter as ...

Although heterogeneity of depression hinders research and clinical practice, attempts to reduce it with latent variable models have yielded inconsistent results, probably because these techniques cannot account for all interacting sources of heterogeneity at the same time. Therefore, to simultaneously decompose depression heterogeneity on the person-, symptom and time-level, three-mode Principal Component Analysis (3MPCA) was applied to data of 219 Major Depression patients, who provided Beck Depression ...

Two fluorinated diazomethanes were synthesized, and used for the modification of polystyrene XAD4, polyacrylate MAC-3, filter paper, and Hybond™ membrane. The structure of modified polymers was confirmed by XPS and solid-state NMR spectra, with a surface loading of 8.28 × 1012–1.68 × 1013 molecules per cm2. Water contact angle values, which increased from 0° to 128.51° (for filter paper) and 120.02° (for Hybond™ membrane), demonstrated hydrophobicity.

Engagement in electronic health (eHealth) and mobile health (mHealth) behavior change interventions is thought to be important for intervention effectiveness, though what constitutes engagement and how it enhances efficacy has been somewhat unclear in the literature. Recently published detailed definitions and conceptual models of engagement have helped to build consensus around a definition of engagement and improve our understanding of how engagement may influence effectiveness. This work has helped ...

Plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) produce type I interferon (IFN-I) and are traditionally defined as being BDCA-2+CD123+. pDCs are not readily detectable in healthy human skin, but have been suggested to accumulate in wounds. Here, we describe a CD1a-bearing BDCA-2+CD123int DC subset that rapidly infiltrates human skin wounds and comprises a major DC population. Using single-cell RNA sequencing, we show that these cells are largely activated DCs acquiring features compatible with lymph node homing ...

Oscillatory features in the power spectrum of primordial density fluctuations are an important signature of inflationary physics and are often tied to the origin of inflation itself. The authors provide a treatment of how to search for these features in the distribution of galaxies in the late-time universe. This includes the insight that the impact of nonlinear evolution of the density fluctuations is a tractable problem. As a consequence, they are able to use the full statistical power of the ...

The issue of hydrogen embrittlement (HE) in face-centered (FCC) structured alloys is significant for H storage and transportation application due to unanticipated damage beyond its predicted service life. This unpredictable situation may harm human life and limit hydrogen to a reliable source of renewable energy in industrial fields. Recent research has suggested that multi-principal element alloys possess high resistance to HE. However, there has been limited exploration of how their unique properties ...
