UL18 is a human CMV (HCMV) MHC class I (MHCI) homolog that efficiently inhibits leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor subfamily B member 1 (LILRB1)+ NK cells. We investigated the effect of acute cold exposure, leptin, and the somatostatin analog octreotide (OCT) on thyroid type I (D1) and II (D2) deiodinase activities.
