This study was carried out to assess the genetic diversity and heritability of various agronomic traits using twenty fenugreek landraces from Iran. The trial was conducted at Maragheh experiment station in North-west of Iran under rainfed (RF) and irrigated (IR) conditions during 2008 cropping season. Results of combined analysis of variance showed significant differences among landraces for all traits except for harvest index under rainfed conditions and in number of pods per plant, number of seeds ...

An estimation method for the nonlinear signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is extended to simultaneously identify the shaping distribution for rate-adaptive probabilistically shaped (PS) 64-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) constellations. An artificial neural network (ANN) is trained with the fiber nonlinearity induced amplitude noise covariance and phase noise correlation extracted from received symbols. The identification employs estimates of the nonlinear signal-to-noise ratio (SNR nl ) and nonlinear ...

The antimicrobial effects of copper ions and salts are well known, but the effects of cuprous oxide nanoparticles (Cu2O-NPs) on staphylococcal biofilms have not yet been clearly revealed. The present study evaluated Cu2O-NPs for their antibacterial and antibiofilm activities against heterogeneous vancomycin-intermediate Staphylococcus aureus (hVISA) and vancomycin-intermediate S. aureus (VISA). Nanoscaled Cu2O, generated by solution phase technology, contained Cu2O octahedral nanoparticles. Field emission ...

Introduction: Imidazothiazole derivatives have long been therapeutically used for the treatment of various diseases. In recent years, the imidazothiazole and chalcone moieties have emerged as important pharmacophores in the development of antitumor agents. Imidazothiazole–chalcone conjugates can be accessed by covalently binding these two powerful pharamacophore units. These conjugates are known to exhibit a wide range of biological properties, including anticancer, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory ...

The resulting (CTS-GLY/KN) was found to be a promising composite synthetic biopolymer that can be potentially utilized for color removal as well as COD reduction of an industrial anionic dye (remazol brilliant blue R, RBBR). The surface porosity, crystallinity, morphology, functionality, charge, and amine content of the CTS-GLY/KN were studied using ...

Herein, an environmentally friendly and efficient adsorbent of microalgae (MAG) was applied for the removal of crystal violet (CV) and methylene blue (MB) dyes from aqueous solutions. Multivariate modeling and optimization of CV and MB dyes removal onto MAG via Box-Behnken design (BBD) were investigated depending on three variables i.e. MAG dosage (20–100 mg), initial pH (4–10), and adsorption time (2–6 min). The adsorption kinetics and isotherm analyses revealed that the pseudo-second-order and Langmuir ...

Abstract Purpose: The half-life of the antiangiogenic molecule endostatin that has been used in clinical trial is short (∼2 h). In addition, ∼50% of the clinical grade endostatin molecules lack four amino acids at their NH2 termini. Lack of these amino acids gives rise to a molecule that is devoid of zinc, resulting in no antitumor activity. Our goal was to develop a new version of endostatin that does not show such deficiency. Experimental Design: A recombinant human endostatin conjugated to the Fc ...
