The leafminer Liriomyza sativae Blanchard is an important insect pest on melon crops in Brazil. However, the information about its biology on melon (Cucumis melo L.) is scarce. Therefore, the aim of this research was to know some biological aspects of this pest, reared on melon plants, under laboratory conditions at 25°C. Our results showed that the biological cycle of L. sativae lasts 15.9±0.04 days (egg-adult), namely: egg (2.7±0.01 days), larva (4.1±0.03 days) and pupa (9.1±0.03 days). The sex ratio ...

This work aims to study the non-oxidative conversion of methane in a HMCM-22 zeolite and to compare its activity and stability when using hydrogen regeneration cycles. Catalytic tests were carried with pure methane at atmospheric pressure and 973 K, with WHSV of 90gCH4gMo-1h-1. This paper deals with the molecular mechanics simulations of graphene nanostructures and their vibration behavior for potential applications on nano-electronics and nanocomposites. Abstract The gas-phase toluene oxidation was studied over metal containing mixed oxides derived from hydrotalcite-like compounds with high specific surface area. Both the catalysts with platinum and manganese showed to be promising catalysts, due to its good activity and low light-off temperature. Special attention must be paid to the platinum catalyst, which showed a light-off at 460 K and complete toluene oxidation at 635 K. No other products besides CO2, CO and H2O were observed.

A 32-year-old HIV negative male presented with multiple pulmonary cavitation and skin abscesses up to 15 cm in diameter mimicking tuberculosis. Sporothrix brasiliensis was isolated and patient responded well to amphotericin B followed by itraconazole, except the skin lesions that had to be surgical drained to obtain cure.
