An evaluation of metal contamination in estuarine waters and shrimp culture systems was conducted using two analytical processes: soluble metals were examined by radioisotope x-ray fluorescence spectrometry (RIXRF) and soluble and insoluble metals by total reflection x-ray fluorescence spectrometry (TRXRF).
