The electro-oxidation of electrolytically unsupported ensembles of N,N-diethyl-N',N'-dialkyl-para-phenylenediamine (DEDRPD, R = n-butyl, n-hexyl, and n-heptyl) redox liquid femtoliter volume droplets immobilized on a basal plane pyrolytic graphite electrode is reported in the presence of aqueous electrolytes. Electron transfer at these redox liquid modified electrodes is initiated at the microdroplet-electrode-electrolyte three-phase boundary. Dependent on both the lipophilicity of the redox oil and ...

Purpose Narcissism is often cited as a construct that is likely related to unethical leadership. Still, only a handful of empirical studies have examined the relationship between narcissism and workgroup outcomes, and practically none have linked narcissism to leader behaviors. The purpose of this paper is to use narcissism scores to predict behaviors associated with unethical leadership in a controlled setting. Design/methodology/approach Participants completed a measure of narcissistic personality. ...

Co-administration of drugs with alcohol can affect the plasma concentration of drugs in patients. It is also known that the excipients used in the formulation of drugs may not always be resistant to alcohol. This study evaluates effect of varying alcohol concentrations on theophylline release from two grades of Grewia mollis polysaccharides. X-ray microtomography showed that native polysaccharide formulation compacts were not homogenous after the mixing process resulting in its failure in swelling ...

Mobile sensors offer enormous potential for the collection of informative clinical endpoints in clinical trials to support regulatory decision making and product labelling. There are currently no specific guidelines on the information needed to enable regulators to review and accept proposed endpoints derived from mobile sensors for use in drug development trials. The purpose of this working group report is to recommend the structure and content of an evidence dossier intended to support whether ...

The processes that affect water chemistry as the water flows from recharge areas through breccia-pipe uranium deposits in the Grand Canyon region of the southwestern United States are not well understood. Pigeon Spring had elevated uranium in 1982 (44 μg/L), compared to other perched springs (2.7–18 μg/L), prior to mining operations at the nearby Pigeon Mine. Perched groundwater springs in an area around the Pigeon Mine were sampled between 2009 and 2015 and compared with material from the Pigeon ...

Seat belt use can significantly reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes (Kahane, 2000). Nevertheless, the current U.S. seat belt use rate of 89.6% (Enriquez & Pickrell, 2019) indicates that a relatively small but pervasive portion of the population does not wear seat belts on a full-time basis. Whereas much is known about the demographic predictors of seat belt use, far less is understood about psychological factors that predict individual proclivities toward using or not using a seat belt.
