A stoichiometric micro-sized powder SrAl2O4:Eu2+ was synthesized by traditional solid state reaction at 1250 °C. Low-temperature spectroscopic measurements revealed two luminescence bands at 450 nm and 512 nm; their origin was discussed. Theoretical calculations of the structural and optical properties of SrAl2O4:Eu2+ in the framework of the density functional theory (DFT) were carried out; the obtained results were compared with the corresponding experimental data. For the first time, the position ...

A stoichiometric powder composed of nanosized grains of SrAl2O4:Eu2+ was synthesized by combustion method at 500 °C with the subsequent calcination at 1000 °C. The zero-phonon line position, parameter of the Stokes shift, heat release factor and effective phonon energy were studied experimentally and analyzed in the framework of the multimode Pekar–Huang–Rhys model. Experimental data show that the optical 4f–5d transitions in Eu2+ ion exhibit a broad asymmetric electron–vibrational bands with a pronounced ...

In this paper we report the luminescence properties of nanosized undoped and Eu2+ (1%) doped SrAl2O4 phosphors. The samples were prepared by combustion method at 600 °C followed by annealing of the resultant combustion ash at 1000 °C in a reductive (Ar + H2) atmosphere. Photo luminescence (PL) and cathodoluminescence (CL) analyses were applied to characterize the phosphors. The qualitative energy level scheme of doped crystal SrAl2O4:Eu2+ and nature of defects in undoped phosphor is proposed and discussed. ...

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC) has become more common in clinical practice, and with a wide variety of pathologies, which is apparently associated with an improvement in the diagnosis of this disease. At the same time, this diagnosis is still not always established, primarily due to the lack of doctors’ awareness about this disease. TTC has many synonyms: broken heart syndrome, stress-induced cardiomyopathy, apical ballooning syndrome. TTC is a form of acute and, as a rule, reversible heart failure, ...

Enzymes are more selective and efficient than synthetic catalysts but are limited by difficult recycling. This is overcome by immobilisation, namely through encapsulation, with the main drawback of this method being slow diffusion of products and reactants, resulting in effectively lowered enzyme activity. Fluorinated dendritic amphiphiles were reported to self-assemble into regularly perforated bilayer vesicles, so-called "stomatosomes". It was proposed that they could be promising novel reaction ...

The luminescent Z-scan technique with time resolution is applied to the study of the luminescence properties of CH3NH3PbBr3 single crystals representative of the family of hybrid organic–inorganic lead perovskites successfully applied recently in photovoltaics and currently investigated as potential nanosecond scintillators. The third harmonic of Ti-sapphire laser (λ = 266 nm) with a pulse duration of 26 fs and 1 kHz frequency was applied for the luminescence excitation creating the charge carriers ...
