Background Using data from the GARFIELD ‐ AF (Global Anticoagulant Registry in the FIELD –Atrial Fibrillation), we evaluated the impact of chronic kidney disease ( CKD ) stage on clinical outcomes in patients with newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation ( AF ). The interaction of MinC with FtsZ and its effects on FtsZ polymerization were studied under close to physiological conditions by a combination of biophysical methods. Brégman-Minc theorem gives the best known upper bound of the permanent of (0, 1)-matrices. A new proof of the theorem is presented in this paper, using an unbiased estimator of permanent [L.E. Rasmussen, Approximating the permanent: a simple approach, Random Structures Algorithms 5 (1994), p. 349]. This proof establishes a connection between the randomized approximate algorithm and the bound estimation for permanents.

Abstract We present a videomicroscopy study of T4 DNA (169 kbp) in microfluidic arrays of posts formed by the self‐assembly of magnetic beads. We observe DNA moving through an area of 10 000 µm 2 , typically containing 100–600 posts. Abstract Abstract In this paper, some upper bounds for computing the permanent of (0, 1) -matrices are given based on row sum and column index sets of each row. These bounds are shown to be better than those obtained by Minc-Bregman in terms of row sums.
