La sepsis es una entidad sindrómica de elevada prevalencia y mortalidad. Su manejo está estandarizado y tiene una eficacia dependiente del tiempo. Sin embargo, el manejo de los pacientes con sepsis es complejo. Background: Patients with chronic kidney disease undergo various stages of therapeutic adaptation which involve lifestyle modifications, physical changes, and adjustment to renal replacement therapy. This process produces adaptive stress. Objective: To identify how resilience, health- related quality of life, and sociodemographic, clinical, and hemodialysis routine-related variables are related to perceived stress in patients with chronic kidney disease receiving hemodialysis for more than six months. ...

The synthesis and pharmacological activity of a new series of 4-alkyl-1-oxa-4,9-diazaspiro[5.5]undecane derivatives as potent dual ligands for the σ1 receptor (σ1R) and the μ-opioid receptor (MOR) are reported. A lead optimization program over the initial 4-aryl analogues provided 4-alkyl derivatives with the desired functionality and good selectivity and ADME profiles. Compound 14u (EST73502) showed MOR agonism and σ1R antagonism and a potent analgesic activity, comparable to the MOR agonist oxycodone ...

Ubiquitination and ADP-ribosylation are post-translational modifications that play major roles in pathways including the DNA damage response and viral infection. The enzymes responsible for these modifications are therefore potential targets for therapeutic intervention. DTX3L is an E3 Ubiquitin ligase that forms a heterodimer with PARP9. In addition to its ubiquitin ligase activity, DTX3L–PARP9 also acts as an ADP-ribosyl transferase for Gly76 on the C-terminus of ubiquitin. NAD+-dependent ADP- ...

Abstract Tankyrases catalyse poly-ADP-ribosylation of their binding partners and the modification serves as a signal for the subsequent proteasomal degradation of these proteins. Tankyrases thereby regulate the turnover of many proteins involved in multiple and diverse cellular processes, such as mitotic spindle formation, telomere homeostasis and Wnt/β-catenin signalling. In recent years, tankyrases have become attractive targets for the development of inhibitors as potential therapeutics against ...

We describe the characteristics of patients with moderate/advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) according to receipt of lipid-lowering therapy (LLT), and whether they achieved low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) targets for high- and very high-risk patients.CKD-REIN (NCT03381950), a prospective cohort study conducted in 40 nephrology clinics in France, enrolled 3033 patients with moderate (stage G3) or advanced (stage G4/G5) CKD (2013-2016) who had not been on chronic dialysis or undergone kidney ...

The Z2s-additive codes are subgroups of Z2sn, and can be seen as a generalization of linear codes over Z2 and Z4. A Z2s-linear Hadamard code is a binary Hadamard code which is the Gray map image of a Z2s-additive code. A partial classification of these codes by using the dimension of the kernel is known. In this paper, we establish that some Z2s-linear Hadamard codes of length 2t are equivalent, once t is fixed. This allows us to improve the known upper bounds for the number of such nonequivalent ...
