Very late antigen-4 (VLA-4; also known as integrin α4β1) is expressed at high levels in aggressive and metastatic melanoma tumors and may provide an ideal target for imaging and targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT). 177Lu-DOTA-PEG4-LLP2A (177Lu-LLP2A) is a TRT that shows high affinity for VLA-4 and high uptake in B16F10 mouse melanoma tumors in vivo. Here, we report efficacy studies of 177Lu-LLP2A, alone and combined with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) (anti-PD-1, anti-PD-L1, and anti-CTLA-4 antibodies), ...

François Venter, June Fabian, Charles Feldman,

Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF, commonly termed ‘tenofovir’) is the antiretroviral most commonly implicated in antiretroviral-induced nephrotoxicity. As patients on successful antiretroviral therapy (ART) age, their risk for developing renal disease may increase in part because of ART itself, but more importantly, because of HIV-associated and non-HIV-associated comorbidity. Therefore, clinicians need an approach to managing renal disease in people on TDF. TDF as a cause of acute kidney injury ( ...

BACKGROUND Exsanguination associated with acute traumatic coagulopathy is a leading cause of death following injury. While platelets occupy a pivotal role in clot formation, clinical research has been scant because of complexities resulting from the need for rapid handling and complex testing of platelet functions. While the thrombin pathway has been proposed as a mediator of platelet dysfunction in trauma, it has not been systematically investigated. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ...

We present a multi-epoch X-ray spectral analysis of the Seyfert 1 galaxy Fairall 9. Our analysis shows that Fairall 9 displays unique spectral variability in that its ratio residuals to a simple absorbed power law in the 0.5-10 keV band remain constant with time in spite of large variations in flux. This behavior implies an unchanging source geometry and the same emission processes continuously at work at the timescale probed. With the constraints from NuSTAR on the broad-band spectral shape, it ...

We present the results from a joint Suzaku/NuSTAR broadband spectral analysis of 3C 390.3. The high quality data enables us to clearly separate the primary continuum from the reprocessed components allowing us to detect a high energy spectral cut-off ( keV), and to place constraints on the Comptonization parameters of the primary continuum for the first time. The hard over soft compactness is and the optical depth is this leads to an electron temperature of keV. Expanding our study of the Comptonization ...

Ultraluminous X-ray sources (ULX) are off-nuclear point sources in nearby galaxies whose X-ray luminosity exceeds the theoretical maximum for spherical infall (the Eddington limit) onto stellar-mass black holes. Their luminosity ranges from $10^{40}$ erg s$^{-1} < L_X$(0.5 - 10 keV) $ $10^{40}$ erg s$^{-1}$), which require black hole masses MBH >50 solar masses and/or significant departures from the standard thin disk accretion that powers bright Galactic X-ray binaries. Here we report broadband X-ray observations ...

We report on an observation of the neutron star low-mass X-ray binary Serpens X-1, made with NuSTAR. The extraordinary sensitivity afforded by NuSTAR facilitated the detection of a clear, robust, relativistic Fe K emission line from the inner disk. A relativistic profile is required over a single Gaussian line from any charge state of Fe at the 5-sigma level of confidence, and any two Gaussians of equal width at the same confidence. Abstract The hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) is a unique cell type found in bone marrow, which has the capacity for both self-renewal and differentiation into all blood lineages. The identification of genes expressed specifically in HSCs may help identify gene products vital to the control of self-renewal and/or differentiation, as well as antigens capable of forming the basis for improved methods of stem cell isolation. In previous studies, we identified a number of genes that appeared to be differentially ...

The infrared data imply a total rest-frame 1-1000$\mu$m luminosity of $5.5\times10^{46}$erg s$^{-1}$ and require both an AGN torus and starburst model. The AGN torus has an anisotropy-corrected IR luminosity of $4.9\times10^{46}$erg s$^{-1}$, ...

Donnan dialysis occurs when an electrochemical potential gradient exists for ions on either side of an ion-exchange membrane. We posit that this phenomenon can be leveraged to develop a sustainable process for nutrient recovery from wastewater. In this work, we conducted a fundamental study of the key parameters that control orthophosphate (P(V)) removal and recovery by Donnan dialysis. First, a new variable, namely the minimum draw ion concentration ratio between the draw and waste solutions (Rd/ ...
