Mineral deposits like those of the Cu-Au-U-ETR-Fe-oxides class are commonly associated with hydrothermal alteration zones that are detectable by airbone geophysical methods. In The Pio IX, Sao Juliao and Fronteiras region (Piaui State), and Campos Sales region (Ceara State) there are copper occurrences in Eo-cambrian molassic basins, and others associated with fault breccias in hydrothermal alteration zones due to Post-Brasiliano granites (550 My) intruded in Mesoproterozoic ortogneisses and metavolcanic ...

The area covered by the Itabira-Ferros Project is located in the lron Quadrangle, State of Minas Gerais, and is known for its emerald occurrences. The area is characterized by greenstone belts (Rio das Velhas Supergroup) and paleoproterozoic iron sequences belonging to the Minas Series, insertedin granitoid bodies (Borrachudos Granite). The development of emerald deposits is attributed to the interaction of pegmatitic fluids with mafic-ultramafic rocks of Rio das Velhas Supergroup. The present study ...

The area covered by the Itabira-Ferros Project is located in the Iron Quadrangle, State ofMinas Gerais, and is known for its emerald occurrences. The present study applies geophysical characteristics, using airborne gamma-ray spectrometric data and their integration with geology, to determine probable zones of emerald mineralization. The total count gamma-ray image allows the definition of the spectrometric framework ofthe area. Analyses ofthe elements K, Th, and U distribution were conducted together ...
