The rate of hematologic recovery after peripheral blood progenitor cell (PBPC) transplantation is influenced by the dose of progenitor cells. Enumeration of cells that express CD34+ on their surface is the most frequently used method to determine progenitor cell dose. In vitro growth of myeloid progenitor cells (colony-forming unit-granulocyte-macrophage [CFU-GM]) requires more time and resources, but may add predictive information.A series of 323 patients, who underwent autologous PBPC transplantation ...

There is limited data on the efficacy of adjuvant therapy (AT) in patients with invasive intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms of the pancreas (IPMN). This single center retrospective cohort study aims to assess the impact of AT on survival in these patients. Patients undergoing surgery for invasive IPMN between 1993 and 2018 were included in the study. We compared the clinicopathologic features and evaluated overall survival (OS) using multivariate Cox regression adjusting for adjuvant therapy, ...

The discovery of spirocyclic piperidine-azetidine inverse agonists of the ghrelin receptor is described. The characterization and redressing of the issues associated with these compounds is detailed. An efficient three-step synthesis and a binding assay were relied upon as the primary means of rapidly improving potency and ADMET properties for this class of inverse agonist compounds. Compound 10n bearing distributed polarity in the form of an imidazo-thiazole acetamide and a phenyl triazole is a ...

Three new cocrystals of bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (dppe) and p-diiodotetrafluorobenzene (p-F4DIB) were studied using single-crystal X-ray crystallography. Two polymorphs containing a 1:1 dppe:p-F4DIB ratio were obtained, each displaying strong P···I halogen bonding along steplike chains. Additionally, a cocrystal with a 1:3 dppe:p-F4DIB ratio was studied. This cocrystal displays a similar main steplike chain to the 1:1 cocrystals, with pendant p-F4DIB molecules along the chain. In all three of ...
