This study investigates the maximum gliding range problems of subsonic unpowered gliding vehicles and proposes an approximate optimal maximum range guidance scheme. First, the gliding flight path angle corresponding to constant dynamic pressure is derived. A lift-to-drag ratio ( L / D ) inversely proportional to the dynamic pressure is then proven. On this basis, the calculation method of an optimal dynamic pressure (ODP) profile with a maximum L / D throughout the flight is presented. A guidance scheme ...

The temperature of a physical system is operationally defined in physics as "that quantity which is measured by a thermometer" weakly coupled to, and at equilibrium with the system. This definition is unique only at global equilibrium in view of the zeroth law of thermodynamics: when the system and the thermometer have reached equilibrium, the "thermometer degrees of freedom" can be traced out and the temperature read by the thermometer can be uniquely assigned to the system. Unfortunately, such a ...

The hierarchical equation of motion method has become one of the most popular numerical methods for describing the dissipative dynamics of open quantum systems linearly coupled to environment. However, its applications to systems with strong electron correlation are largely restrained by the computational cost, which is mainly caused by the high truncation tier L required to accurately characterize the strong correlation effect. In this work, we develop an adiabatic terminator by decoupling the ...

Recent technological advancement in scanning tunneling microscopes has enabled the measurement of spin-field and spin-spin interactions in single atomic or molecular junctions with an unprecedentedly high resolution. Theoretically, although the fermionic hierarchical equations of motion (HEOM) method has been widely applied to investigate the strongly correlated Kondo states in these junctions, the existence of low-energy spin excitations presents new challenges to numerical simulations. These include ...

The fermionic hierarchical equations of motion (HEOM) approach has found wide application in the exploration of open quantum systems, and extensive efforts have been committed to improving its efficiency and accuracy in practical calculations. In this work, by scrutinizing the stationary-state and dynamic properties of Kondo-correlated quantum impurity systems, we show that the strength of Kondo correlation induced by the system-environment entanglement primarily determines the converged hierarchical ...

Measuring local temperatures of open systems out of equilibrium is emerging as a novel approach to study the local thermodynamic properties of nanosystems. An operational protocol has been proposed to determine the local temperature by coupling a probe to the system and then minimizing the perturbation to a certain local observable of the probed system. In this paper, we first show that such a local temperature is unique for a single quantum impurity and the given local observable. We then extend ...

The Peltier effect, which is the reverse counterpart of the Seebeck effect, has been experimentally observed in nanojunctions. Despite its potential applications in cooling nanoelectronic devices, achieving significant figures of merit and cooling power remain challenging. Here, we propose a novel approach to enable substantial Peltier cooling by leveraging orbital-Kondo states formed through strong electron correlations. We demonstrate this approach by showcasing a reverse heat current and reduced ...

Abstract Many‐body open quantum systems (OQSs) have a profound impact on various subdisciplines of physics, chemistry, and biology. Thus, the development of a computer program capable of accurately, efficiently, and versatilely simulating many‐body OQSs is highly desirable. In recent years, we have focused on the advancement of numerical algorithms based on the fermionic hierarchical equations of motion (HEOM) theory. Being in‐principle exact, this approach allows for the precise characterization ...

Traditional platform seeker can directly obtain the LOS rate by its physical tracking loop, while the strapdown seeker cannot. Losing the ability to directly measure the LOS rate, the strapdown seeker need digital calculation methods to obtain the LOS rate. To solve the problem, the LOS rate estimation model was established. Considering the strong nonlinearity of the estimation model, the strong track cubature Kalman filter(STCKF) was used for the LOS rate estimation. Based on the typical launch ...

Mechanical unloading-induced bone loss is a clinical challenge, and deep understanding for this disease is necessary for developing novel and effective therapies. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs, and involved in bone remodeling. In the study, we attempted to explore the potential of miR-133a in regulating osteoblast activation and its anti-osteopenia function both in vitro and in vivo. Our in vitro studies at first showed that miR-133a could significantly promote the expression of osteocalcin ( ...

Magnetic molecules adsorbed on two-dimensional (2D) substrates have attracted broad attention because of their potential applications in quantum device applications. Experimental observations have demonstrated substantial alteration in the spin excitation energy of iron phthalocyanine (FePc) molecules when adsorbed on nitrogen-doped graphene substrates. However, the underlying mechanism responsible for this notable change remains unclear. To shed light on this, we employ an embedding method and
