The solution of the problem of improving the human environment and working conditions at mines is based on the provision of the rationale of parameters and conditions for the implementation of an environmentally balanced cycle of comprehensive development of mineral deposits on the basis of the design of mining engineering systems characterized by the minimization of the human factor effect in danger zones of mining operations. In this area, robotized technologies are being developed, machinery ...

All four stereoisomers of the title compound (1a–d) were prepared, starting from a common precursor, 3-oxocyclobutanecarboxylic acid. Lewis acid-catalyzed rearrangement of a 8-oxadispiro[2.0.3.1]octane-6-carboxylic acid derivative was used as the key synthetic step to construct the suitably functionalized spiro[3.3]heptane skeleton. A stabilized oxaphosphetane intermediate of the Wittig reaction was detected along the synthetic route. Separation of the diastereomeric intermediates allowed each target ...

An efficient approach to synthesis of previously unavailable 2-substituted difluorocyclobutane building blocks was developed and applied on a multigram scale. The key step of the synthetic sequence included deoxofluorination of O-protected 2-(hydroxylmethyl)cyclobutanone. Dissociation constants (pKa) and log P values for 2,2-difluorocyclobutaneamine and 2,2-difluorocyclobutanecarboxylic acid or their derivatives were measured and compared with the values obtained for the corresponding 3,3-difluorocyclobutane ...

Mines now absorbing Industry 4.0 technologies face the challenges of production energy efficiency enhancement and energy safety improvement. Following the environmental standards involves the requirement of turning from diesel to electric drive of mining machinery and equipment. This significantly improves miners’ working environment in ore mines. At the same time, the share of energy consumption increases in the situation of low energy security of mines, particularly at peak loads. The article ...

Currently, when satellite data volumes grow rapidly and exceed petabyte values and their quality provides reliable analysis of long-term time series, traditional data handling methods assuming local storage and processing may be impossible to implement for small or distributed research teams. Thus, new methods based on modern web technologies providing access to very large distributed data archives are gaining increasing importance. Furthermore, these new data handling solutions should provide not ...

Cyclobutane diamines (i.e., cis- and trans-1,3-diaminocyclobutane, 6-amino-3-azaspiro[3.3]heptane, and 3,6-diaminospiro[3.3]heptane) are considered as promising sterically constrained diamine building blocks for drug discovery. An approach to the syntheses of their Boc-monoprotected derivatives has been developed aimed at the preparation of multigram amounts of the compounds. These novel synthetic schemes exploit classical malonate alkylation chemistry for the construction of cyclobutane rings. The ...

The synthesis of all stereoisomers of spiro[3.3]heptane-1,6-diamines suitably protected for use as building blocks in drug discovery is reported. Structural analysis revealed the similarity between the spiro[3.3]heptane and cyclohexane scaffolds. Comparison of the distance between functional groups and their spatial orientation proved that (1S,4r,6R)- and (1R,4r,6S)-1,6-disubstituted spiro[3.3]heptanes can be considered as restricted surrogates of cis-1,4-disubstituted cyclohexane derivatives. The synthesis of a set of conformationally restricted fluorinated analogues of piperidine, based on a 2-azaspiro[3.3]heptane scaffold, is reported. Different pattern of fluorine substitution within the rigid skeleton make the analogues excellent candidates for use in drug design. The overall simplicity of the experimental procedures and the availability of inexpensive starting materials allow for multigram-scale syntheses of the described compounds.

The first evidence for the Higgs boson decay to a Z boson and a photon is presented, with a statistical significance of 3.4 standard deviations. The result is derived from a combined analysis of the searches performed by the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations with proton-proton collision datasets collected at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) from 2015 to 2018. These correspond to integrated luminosities of around 140 fb − 1 for each experiment, at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The measured signal ...

Progressive advance in technology of second-generation (2G) high-temperature superconducting (HTS) superconductors leads to the continuous rise of their critical-current density. Critical current of 200 A at 4-mm tapes and ~600 A at 12-mm tapes is already state of the art. One problem is that critical currents of HTS tapes have sounding anisotropy. Moreover, it was found that in external magnetic field, the Lorentz force direction is affecting the critical currents of 2G HTS tapes. Two hypotheses were ...

This paper describes the method of study of the critical current density distribution across a tape in a background magnetic field. We measured the current distribution by the scanning Hall probe method. Then we measured field across a tape by a set of 10 Hall probes placed on a single substrate. By comparison of data from these two experiments we determined positions of Hall probes at a tape. Then we measured the current distribution of current density across a tape inside a magnet in parallel ...
