In this article, the parameter identification of a brushless DC motor (BLDC) is presented. The approach here presented is based on a direct identification considering a three-phase line-to-line voltage electromagnetic torque as function of the electric currents and rotor speed. The estimation is divided into two stages. First, the electrical parameters are estimated by well-known no-load and DC tests. Consequently, estimation of mechanical parameters is performed using a recursive Least Square Algorithm. ...

Worldwide G-glycoprotein phylogeny of human respiratory syncytial virus (hRSV) group A sequences revealed diversification in major clades and genotypes over more than 50 years of recorded history. Multiple genotypes cocirculated during prolonged periods of time, but recent dominance of the GA2 genotype was noticed in several studies, and it is highlighted here with sequences from viruses circulating recently in Spain and Panama. On April 1, 2014, a large earthquake (Mw = 8.1) ruptured the central part of a historic seismic gap in northern Chile. In order to study the relationship between the co-seismic rupture characteristics and the crustal structure of the subduction zone, we processed a trench-perpendicular seismic reflection profile acquired across the zone of maximum slip and generated a P-wave velocity model. The results show a frontal prism in the continental wedge characterized by low velocities that increase rapidly ...

The systemic response to exercise is dose-dependent and involves a complex gene expression regulation and cross-talk between tissues. This context ARISES the need for analyzing the influence of exercise dose on the profile of circulating microRNAs (c-miRNAs), as emerging posttranscriptional regulators and intercellular communicators. Thus, we hypothesized that different exercise doses will determine specific c-miRNA signatures that will highlight its potential as exercise dose biomarker. Nine active ...

The influence of age and maternal antibodies on the antibody responses to human respiratory syncytial virus (hRSV) glycoproteins in very young children has been a matter of controversy. Both, immaturity of the immune system at very early age and suppression of the host immune response by high level of maternal antibodies have been claimed to limit the host antibody response to virus infection and to jeopardize the use of hRSV vaccines under development in that age group. Hence, the antibody responses ...
