Producing passive printed circuit board (PCB) structures in the millimeter-wave range includes some fundamental challenges, such as low manufacturing costs and high fabrication accuracy. These aspects, in general, have to be combined with low signal attenuation, precise simulation models, and a reliable producibility. This article shows a new method to manufacture different kinds of passive RF waveguides with reduced attenuation and decreased electrical length on low-cost PCB substrates. First, the ...

Usually, the printed circuit board industry has to use special subtractive manufacturing methods, if small line and space dimensions down to $50~\mu \text{m}$ are desired. This drastically raises production effort and costs. In this article, a method is shown as to how the inkjet technology can be used to produce passive RF structures with minimum line and space dimensions of $25~\mu \text{m}$ . For the first time, this is possible over complete panels of low-cost printed circuit board (PCB) substrates, ...

This letter presents a method to determine the complex surface impedance of rough conductors utilizing the main idea of the gradient model. By introducing a frequency dependent, effective quadratic surface roughness parameter real conductivity profiles can be described without simplified approximations. This concept delivers highly accurate simulation models, which is proven for additive and subtractive manufactured microstrip lines (MS) up to 110 GHz.

Importance Patients with breast cancer remain at risk of relapse after adjuvant therapy. Celecoxib has shown antitumor effects in preclinical models of human breast cancer, but clinical evidence is lacking. Objective To evaluate the role of celecoxib as an addition to conventional therapy for women with ERBB2 (formerly HER2)–negative primary breast cancer. Design, Setting, and Participants The Randomized European Celecoxib Trial (REACT) was a phase 3, randomized, double-blind study conducted in 160 centers ...

Abstract Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) is frequently used in patients with early breast cancer. Randomized controlled trials have demonstrated similar survival after NACT or adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT). However, certain subtypes may benefit more when NACT contains regimes leading to high rates of pathologic complete response (pCR) rates. In this study we analyzed data using the OncoBox research from 94,638 patients treated in 55 breast cancer centers to describe the current clinical practice of and ...

Previous studies on gender differences in running biomechanics have predominantly been limited to joint angles and have not investigated a potential influence of footwear condition. This study shall contribute to closing this gap. Lower body biomechanics of 37 recreational runners (19 f, 18 m) were analysed for eight footwear and two running speed conditions. Presenting the effect size Cliff’s Delta enabled the interpretation of gender differences across a variety of variables and conditions. Known ...
