For patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), dual immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) with CTLA4 inhibitors and PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitors (hereafter, PD-(L)1 inhibitors) is associated with higher rates of anti-tumour activity and immune-related toxicities, when compared with treatment with PD-(L)1 inhibitors alone. However, there are currently no validated biomarkers to identify which patients will benefit from dual ICB1,2. Here we show that patients with NSCLC who have mutations in the ...

Abstract Molecular modifiers of KRASG12C inhibitor (KRASG12Ci) efficacy in advanced KRASG12C-mutant NSCLC are poorly defined. In a large unbiased clinicogenomic analysis of 424 patients with non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), we identified and validated coalterations in KEAP1, SMARCA4, and CDKN2A as major independent determinants of inferior clinical outcomes with KRASG12Ci monotherapy. Collectively, comutations in these three tumor suppressor genes segregated patients into distinct prognostic subgroups ...

Abstract Background Five hundred 8-d old male broilers Cobb500 were randomly allotted into 10 treatments in factorial arrangement with 5 Cu levels (0, 4, 8, 12, and 16 mg/kg), and 2 sources (Cu proteinate, CuPro and Cu sulphate, CuSO4.5H2O) for a 10-d-experiment. Results Feed conversion ratio (FCR) was better ( P < 0.05) in CuPro fed chicks compared with CuSO4.5H2O group. Average daily feed intake (ADFI) decreased linearly ( P < 0.05) as dietary Cu increased. A quadratic response ( P < 0.05) to Cu levels was found ...

Abstract Almost 2 years into the pandemic and with vaccination of children significantly lagging behind adults, long-term pediatric humoral immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 are understudied. The C19.CHILD Hamburg (COVID-19 Child Health Investigation of Latent Disease) Study is a prospective cohort study designed to identify and follow up children and their household contacts infected in the early 2020 first wave of SARS-CoV-2. We screened 6113 children < 18 years by nasopharyngeal swab-PCR in a low-incidence ...

Abstract cvc5 is the latest SMT solver in the cooperating validity checker series and builds on the successful code base of CVC4. This paper serves as a comprehensive system description of cvc5 ’s architectural design and highlights the major features and components introduced since CVC4 1.8. We evaluate cvc5 ’s performance on all benchmarks in SMT-LIB and provide a comparison against CVC4 and Z3.

ABSTRACT Objective: To achieve a literature review on the impacts of COVID-19 on dentistry. Methods: Analysis of scientific articles contained in the LILACS and PubMed platforms that fulfill the informative purpose of the research. Results: The production of aerosols during dental procedures could be highlighted as the most dangerous agent, the literature recommends restricting the type of service only to emergencies and reducing the use of rotating instruments or cough-inducing equipaments. New ...

Plants belonging to the genus Copaifera are widely used in Brazil due to their antimicrobial properties, among others. The re-emergence of classic fungal diseases as a consequence of antifungal resistance to available drugs has stimulated the search for plant-based compounds with antifungal activity, especially against Candida. The Candida-infected Caenorhabditis elegans model was used to evaluate the in vitro antifungal potential of Copaifera leaf extracts and trunk oleoresins against Candida species. ...

We present cvc4sy, a syntax-guided synthesis (SyGuS) solver based on three bounded term enumeration strategies. The first encodes term enumeration as an extension of the quantifier-free theory of algebraic datatypes. The second is based on a highly optimized brute-force algorithm. The third combines elements of the others. Our implementation of the strategies within the satisfiability modulo theories (SMT) solver cvc4 and a heuristic to choose between them leads to significant improvements over state- ...

SMT solvers have throughout the years been able to cope with increasingly expressive formulas, from ground logics to full first-order logic (FOL). In contrast, the extension of SMT solvers to higher-order logic (HOL) is mostly unexplored. We propose a pragmatic extension for SMT solvers to support HOL reasoning natively without compromising performance on FOL reasoning, thus leveraging the extensive research and implementation efforts dedicated to efficient SMT solving. We show how to generalize data ...

We present a framework for processing formulas in automatic theorem provers, with generation of detailed proofs. The main components are a generic contextual recursion algorithm and an extensible set of inference rules. Clausification, skolemization, theory-specific simplifications, and expansion of 'let' expressions are instances of this framework. With suitable data structures, proof generation adds only a linear-time overhead, and proofs can be checked in linear time. We implemented the approach ...

The performance of modern Satisfiability Modulo Theories (SMT) solvers relies crucially on efficient decision procedures as well as static simplification techniques, which include large sets of rewrite rules. Manually discovering and implementing rewrite rules is challenging. In this work, we propose a framework that uses enumerative syntax-guided synthesis (SyGuS) to propose rewrite rules that are not implemented in a given SMT solver. We implement this framework in cvc4, a state-of-the-art SMT and ...

Sexual dimorphism is a relevant factor in animal science, since it can affect the gene expression of economically important traits. Eventually, the interest in the prenatal phase in a transcriptome study may not comprise the period of development in which male and female conceptuses are phenotypically divergent. Therefore, it would be interesting if sex differentiation could be performed using transcriptome data, with no need for extra techniques. In this study, the sex of pig conceptuses (embryos ...

Formal methods applications often rely on SMT solvers to automatically discharge proof obligations. SMT solvers handle quantified formulas using incomplete heuristic techniques like E-matching, and often resort to model-based quantifier instantiation (MBQI) when these techniques fail. This paper revisits enumerative instantiation, a technique that considers instantiations based on exhaustive enumeration of ground terms. Although simple, we argue that enumerative instantiation can supplement other ...

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive condition that may negatively affect musculoskeletal health. These comorbidities may include malnutrition, osteoporosis, and decreased lean body mass. Secondary sarcopenia due to CKD may be associated with mobility limitations and elevated fall risk. Physical therapists are well-positioned among the health care team to screen for secondary sarcopenia in those with CKD and for the treatment of musculoskeletal comorbid conditions that may affect functional ...

Due to the numerous problems raised by the increase in the emission of pollutant gases in the atmosphere, it has become essential a more effective monitoring of air quality. With that, several studies published in recent years have shown a series of mechanisms and techniques with ability to monitor air quality in a variety of ways. Approaching it, this work proposes a platform formed by a wireless sensor network, with the ability to monitor the levels of pollution at several points simultaneously. ...

Motion capture virtual reality-based rehabilitation has become more common. However, therapists face challenges to the implementation of virtual reality (VR) in clinical settings. Use of motion capture technology such as the Xbox Kinect may provide a useful rehabilitation tool for the treatment of postural instability and cardiovascular deconditioning in individuals with chronic severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). The primary purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a Kinect-based VR ...

Many verification techniques nowadays successfully rely on SMT solvers as back-ends to automatically discharge proof obligations. These solvers generally rely on various instantiation techniques to handle quantifiers. We here show that the major instantiation techniques in SMT solving can be cast in a unifying framework for handling quantified formulas with equality and uninterpreted functions. This framework is based on the problem of $$E$$ -ground (dis)unification, a variation of the classic rigid ...
