We present a Kerr-lens-modelocked, three-element, diode-pumped Ti:sapphire laser producing 111-fs pulses at a repetition frequency of 1.02 GHz. Self-starting soliton-modelocked operation with an output power of 106 mW was obtained when the laser was pumped at 1.0 W with a single 527-nm laser diode. Abstract Cutaneous malakoplakia is a rare infection‐related granulomatous disease frequently associated with immunocompromised states. Foamy macrophages containing basophilic granules, called the Michaelis–Gutman bodies, are pathognomonic. We report a case of cutaneous malakoplakia in a 77‐year‐old male with pyoderma gangrenosum and a 2‐year history of a non‐healing malleolar ulcer treated successfully with cotrimoxazole.

We report on the design, on-sky performance, and status of the FLAMINGOS-2 instrument – the fully-cryogenic facility near-infrared imager and multi-object spectrograph for the Gemini 8-meter telescopes. FLAMINGOS-2 has a refractive all-spherical optical system providing 0.18-arcsecond pixels and a 6.2-arcminute circular field-of-view on a 2048x2048- pixel HAWAII-2 0.9-2.4 μm detector array. Abstract Despite of excellent thermal properties and high sputtering resistance, pure tungsten cannot fully satisfy the requirements for plasma facing materials in future high-duty cycle nuclear fusion reactions due to the coupled extreme environments, including the high thermal loads, plasma exposure, and radiation damage. The $B^0 \to K^{*0} \overline{K}^{*0}$ and $B^0_s \to K^{*0} \overline{K}^{*0}$ decays are studied using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3fb$^{-1}$. An untagged and time-integrated amplitude analysis of $B^0_{(s)} \to (K^+\pi^-)(K^-\pi^+) $ decays in two-body invariant mass regions of 150 MeV$/c^2$ around the $K^{*0}$ mass is performed. The radiative decay Λ_{b}^{0}→Λγ is observed for the first time using a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.7 fb^{-1} collected by the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Its branching fraction is measured exploiting the B^{0}→K^{*0}γ decay as a normalization mode and is found to be B(Λ_{b}^{0}→Λγ)=(7.1±1.5±0.6±0.7)×10^{-6}, where the quoted uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and systematic from external inputs, respectively. ...

We report a measurement of the mass difference between neutral charm-meson eigenstates using a novel approach that enhances sensitivity to this parameter. We use $2.3\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{\mathit{S}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decays reconstructed in proton-proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment in 2011 and 2012. A bstract A search for the $$ {\Xi}_{cc}^{++} $$ Ξ cc + + baryon through the $$ {\Xi}_{cc}^{++} $$ Ξ cc + + → D + pK − π + decay is performed with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1 . 7 fb − 1 recorded by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. No significant signal is observed in the mass range from the kinematic threshold of the decay to 3800 MeV/ c 2 .
