A hydrodynamics + hadronic rescattering model is used to simulate Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV and a Cooper-Frye method is adopted for hadronization. The effect of hadronic rescattering on elliptic flow V2 in 20−40% Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV has been investigated. It is found that the hadronic rescattering can suppress elliptic flow V2 and makes an asymmetric system in momentum space tend to be less anisotropic. The suppression effect becomes weak with increasing transverse momentum. In addition, ...

Mesoporous Mn-doped Co3O4 catalysts were successfully prepared via a dry soft reactive grinding method based on solid state reaction, and their catalytic performances on CO oxidation were evaluated at a high space velocity of 49,500 mL g−1 h−1. A significant promoted effect was observed once the atomic ratios of Mn/(Co+Mn) were lower than 10%, for instance, the temperature for 50% conversion decreased to about −60 °C, showing superior catalytic performance compared to the single metal oxide. Especially, ...

Polymer-bonded explosives (PBXs) are often subjected to different external environmental conditions with various temperature and humidity during long-term storage, transportation, and usage process. The change in temperature and humidity will result in PBXs cracks formation and cause higher risk of explosion evolution when undergoing various stimulus including impact or friction. Herein, a self-healing polymer binder is developed to solve this problem. The fluoropolymer gel binder, a PVDF-co-HFP ( ...

Abstract To improve our understanding of the origin and evolution of mycoheterotrophic plants, we here present the chromosome-scale genome assemblies of two sibling orchid species: partially mycoheterotrophic Platanthera zijinensis and holomycoheterotrophic Platanthera guangdongensis . Comparative analysis shows that mycoheterotrophy is associated with increased substitution rates and gene loss, and the deletion of most photoreceptor genes and auxin transporter genes might be linked to the unique ...

Objective Despite the development of highly effective direct-acting antivirals, a prophylactic vaccine is needed for eradicating HCV. A major hurdle of HCV vaccine development is to induce immunity against HCV with high genome diversity. We previously demonstrated that a soluble E2 (sE2) expressed from insect cells induces broadly neutralising antibodies (NAbs) and prevents HCV infection. The objective of this study is to develop a multivalent HCV vaccine to increase the antigenic coverage. Design ...

This paper presents a novel algorithm for structural reliability analysis based on the finite step length and Armijo line search to remove the drawbacks of the Hasofer–Lind and Rakwitz–Fiessler (HL-RF) algorithm that may be subjected to non-convergence in the first-order reliability method (FORM). Initially, the sensitivity factor with finite step length is introduced for preventing the iterative process of the algorithm from entering a periodic loop. Subsequently, an optimization method based on ...

Litter decomposition of perennial dominant species primarily regulates carbon and nutrient cycling in grassland, which is driven by litter quality, soil micro-environment, and the decomposer organisms. However, how does soil fauna contribute to litter decomposition remains poorly understood, especially for below-ground root at different decomposition stages in grassland ecosystem. Here in upland grassland, we simultaneously examined leaf and root litter decomposition rates of relatively higher-quality ( ...

This paper proposes a single-loop strategy for time-variant system reliability analysis by combining multiple response Gaussian process (MRGP) and Kriging model. Firstly, a new strategy is provided to decouple the double-loop strategy of extreme-value-based time-variant system reliability analysis, where the extreme value response in the double-loop strategy is approximated by the best value in the initial points to avoid the inner-loop extremal optimization. Then, the extreme value response surface ...
