Spin foam models (SFMs) are covariant formulations of loop quantum gravity (LQG) in four dimensions. This work studies the perturbations of SFMs on a flat background. It demonstrates for the first time that smooth curved spacetime geometries satisfying the Einstein equation can emerge from discrete SFMs under an appropriate low energy limit, which corresponds to a semiclassical continuum limit of SFMs. In particular, we show that the low energy excitations of SFMs on a flat background give all smooth ...

We numerically study the next-to-leading order corrections of the Lorentzian Engle-Pereira-Rovelli-Livine (EPRL) 4-simplex amplitude in the large-$j$ expansions. We perform large-$j$ expansions of Lorentzian EPRL 4-simplex amplitudes with two different types of boundary states, the coherent intertwiners and the coherent spin-network, and numerically compute the leading-order and the next-to-leading order $O(1/j)$ contributions of these amplitudes. We also study the dependences of these $O(1/j)$ corrections ...

We compute numerically the Lorentzian Engle-Pereira-Rovelli-Livine (EPRL) spinfoam propagator on a 4-simplex, by adapting the methods of Lefschetz thimble and Markov Chain Monte-Carlo to oscillatory spinfoam integrals. Our method can compute any spinfoam observables at relatively large spins. We obtain the numerical results of the propagators at different spins and demonstrate their consistency with the expected spinfoam semi-classical behavior in the large spin limit. Our results exhibit significant ...

This paper focuses on the semiclassical behavior of the spinfoam quantum gravity in four dimensions. There has been long-standing confusion, known as the flatness problem, about whether the curved geometry exists in the semiclassical regime of the spinfoam amplitude. The confusion is resolved by the present work. By numerical computations, we explicitly find curved Regge geometries that contribute dominantly to the large-$j$ Lorentzian Engle-Pereira-Rovelli-Livine (EPRL) spinfoam amplitudes on triangulations. ...

The problem of simulating complex quantum processes on classical computers gave rise to the field of quantum simulations. Quantum simulators solve problems, such as Boson sampling, where classical counterparts fail. In another field of physics, the unification of general relativity and quantum theory is one of the greatest challenges of our time. One leading approach is Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG). Here, we connect these two fields and design a linear-optical simulator such that the evolution of the ...

Cubic set and complex fuzzy set are two useful tools which have been used successfully to deal with vagueness and uncertainties. In this paper, A new hybrid model is first proposed by combining cubic set and complex fuzzy set, which is called complex cubic fuzzy set (CCFS). Then, some algebraic operations of CCFS are defined and some of their desirable properties are studied in detail. Furthermore, some aggregation operators including complex cubic fuzzy weighted averaging operator (CCFWA), complex ...

A bstract Although the mathematics of anyon condensation in topological phases has been studied intensively in recent years, a proof of its physical existence is tantamount to constructing an effective Hamiltonian theory. In this paper, we concretely establish the physical foundation of anyon condensation by building the effective Hamiltonian and the Hilbert space, in which we explicitly construct the vacuum of the condensed phase as the coherent states that are the eigenstates of the creation operators ...

Twisted geometries are understood to be the discrete classical limit of loop quantum gravity. In this paper, SU(2) flat connections on a (decorated) 2D Riemann surface are shown to be equivalent to the generalized twisted geometries in 3D space with cosmological constant. Various flat connection quantities on a Riemann surface are mapped to the geometrical quantities in discrete 3D space. We propose that the moduli space of SU(2) flat connections on a Riemann surface generalizes the phase space of ...

Quantum simulation promises to have wide applications in many fields where problems are hard to model with classical computers. Various quantum devices of different platforms have been built to tackle the problems in, say, quantum chemistry, condensed matter physics, and high-energy physics. Here, we report an experiment towards the simulation of quantum gravity by simulating the holographic entanglement entropy. On a six-qubit nuclear magnetic resonance quantum simulator, we demonstrate a key result ...

The simplicity constraint is studied in the context of four-dimensional spinfoam models with a cosmological constant. We find that the quantum simplicity constraint is realized as the two-dimensional surface defect in $\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{C})$ Chern-Simons theory in the construction of spinfoam amplitudes. By this realization of the simplicity constraint in Chern-Simons theory, we are able to construct the new spinfoam amplitude with a cosmological constant for an arbitrary simplicial complex (with ...

The unification of general relativity and quantum theory is one of the fascinating problems of modern physics. One leading solution is Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG). Simulating LQG may be important for providing predictions which can then be tested experimentally. However, such complex quantum simulations cannot run efficiently on classical computers, and quantum computers or simulators are needed. Here, we experimentally demonstrate quantum simulations of spinfoam amplitudes of LQG on an integrated ...

In recent years, the calculation of the first nonvanishing order of the metric 2-point function or graviton propagator in a semiclassical limit has evolved as a standard test for the credibility of a proposed spin foam model. The existing results of spin foam graviton propagators rely heavily on the so-called double scaling limit where spins $j$ are large and the Barbero-Immirzi parameter $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ is small such that the area $A\ensuremath{\propto}j\ensuremath{\gamma}$ is approximately constant. ...

Abstract KIN17 DNA and RNA binding protein (Kin17) is involved in the regulation of tumorigenesis of diverse human cancers. However, its role in the cancer progression and metastasis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains largely unknown. Bioinformatics and immunohistochemistry staining were used to investigate the expression pattern of KIN17 and its prognostic value in HCC patients. The transwell, wound‐healing assay was employed to determine the effects of KIN17 on migration and invasion of HCC ...

The use of hydrogen can reduce CO2 emissions and alleviate energy shortages, but large-scale storage and transfer of hydrogen remain obstacles to utilization. Hydrogenation of CO2 to CH3OH and dehydrogenation of CH3OH to H2 and CO2 constitutes a "carbon neutral" cycle for hydrogen storage and release with CO2 and CH3OH. Highly efficient heterogeneous catalysts are required for optimal hydrogen storage systems and improved cycling efficiency. Herein, the goal of this review is to provide a comprehensive ...

This paper studies the reduced phase space formulation (relational formalism) of gravity coupling to the Brown-Kucha\ifmmode \check{r}\else \v{r}\fi{} dust for asymptotic flat spacetimes. A set of boundary conditions for the asymptotic flatness are formulated for Dirac observables on the reduced phase space. The physical Hamiltonian generates the time translation of the dust clock. We compute the boundary term of the physical Hamiltonian, which is identical to the Arnowitt-Deser-Misner mass. We construct ...

We introduce a saddle-point finder that can find the complex saddle points for any analytically continued action. We showcase our saddle-point finder by two examples in the EPRL spin foam model: the single vertex case and the case of triangulation ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}}_{3}$. In both cases, the complex saddle points are found, and each saddle point's contribution to the partition function is estimated. We also discuss the geometrical interpretation of each saddle point.
