Abstract Background Surgical services are preparing to scale up in areas affected by COVID-19. This study aimed to evaluate the association between preoperative SARS-CoV-2 testing and postoperative pulmonary complications in patients undergoing elective cancer surgery. Methods This international cohort study included adult patients undergoing elective surgery for cancer in areas affected by SARS-CoV-2 up to 19 April 2020. A measurement of the lifetimes of the Ωc0 and Ξc0 baryons is reported using proton-proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of 13TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4fb-1 collected by the LHCb experiment. The Ωc0 and Ξc0 baryons are produced directly from proton interactions and reconstructed in the pK-K-π+ final state. The Ωc0 lifetime is measured to be 276.5±13.4±4.4±0.7fs, and the Ξc0 lifetime is measured to be 148.0±2.3±2.2±0.2fs, where the first uncertainty is statistical, ...

First evidence of a structure in the J/ψΛ invariant mass distribution is obtained from an amplitude analysis of Ξb-→J/ψΛK- decays. The observed structure is consistent with being due to a charmonium pentaquark with strangeness with a significance of 3.1σ including systematic uncertainties and look-elsewhere effect. Its mass and width are determined to be 4458.8±2.9-1.1+4.7MeV and 17.3±6.5-5.7+8.0MeV, respectively, where the quoted uncertainties are statistical and systematic. The structure is also ...

The $\Xi_c^0$ baryon is unstable and usually decays into charmless final states by the $c \to s u\overline{d}$ transition. It can, however, also disintegrate into a $\pi^-$ meson and a $\Lambda_c^+$ baryon via $s$ quark decay or via $cs\to d c$ weak scattering. The interplay between the latter two processes governs the size of the branching fraction ${\cal{B}}$$(\Xi_c^0\to \pi^-\Lambda_c^+)$, first measured here to be $(0.55\pm 0.02 \pm 0.18)$%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and second systematic. Resonant contributions in $B^0 \rightarrow \overline{D}^0 D^+_s\pi^-$ and $B^+\rightarrow D^- D^+_s\pi^+$ decays are determined with an amplitude analysis, which is performed both separately and simultaneously, where in the latter case isospin symmetry between the decays is assumed. The analysis is based on data collected by the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 $\rm{TeV}$. The first simultaneous test of muon-electron universality using B^{+}→K^{+}ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-} and B^{0}→K^{*0}ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-} decays is performed, in two ranges of the dilepton invariant-mass squared, q^{2}. Measurements of $CP$ asymmetries in charmless three-body decays of $B^\pm$ mesons are reported using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.9$\,$fb$^{-1}$. The previously observed $CP$ asymmetry in $B^\pm \to \pi^\pm K^+ K^-$ decays is confirmed, and $CP$ asymmetries are observed with a significance of more than five standard deviations in the $B^\pm \to \pi^\pm \pi^+ \pi^-$ and $B^\pm \to K^\pm K^+ K^-$ decays, while the $CP$ asymmetry of $B^\ ...

An amplitude analysis of the B+→D+sD−sK+ decay is carried out to study for the first time its intermediate resonant contributions, using proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. A near-threshold peaking structure, referred to as X(3960), is observed in the D+sD−s invariant-mass spectrum with significance greater than 12 standard deviations. An amplitude analysis of B^{-}→J/ψΛp[over ¯] decays is performed using 4400 signal candidates selected on a data sample of pp collisions recorded at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}. A narrow resonance in the J/ψΛ system, consistent with a pentaquark candidate with strangeness, is observed with high significance. The time-integrated CP asymmetry in the Cabibbo-suppressed decay D^{0}→K^{-}K^{+} is measured using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.7 fb^{-1} collected at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the LHCb detector. A combined amplitude analysis is performed for the decays B^{0}→D[over ¯]^{0}D_{s}^{+}π^{-} and B^{+}→D^{-}D_{s}^{+}π^{+}, which are related by isospin symmetry. The analysis is based on data collected by the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. The full data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}. Two new excited states, Ω_{c}(3185)^{0} and Ω_{c}(3327)^{0}, are observed in the Ξ_{c}^{+}K^{-} invariant-mass spectrum using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}. Five previously observed excited Ω_{c}^{0} states are confirmed, namely Ω_{c}(3000)^{0}, Ω_{c}(3050)^{0}, Ω_{c}(3065)^{0}, Ω_{c}(3090)^{0}, and Ω_{c}(3119)^{0}. The masses and widths of these seven states are measured with the highest precision to date.

A bstract The cross-sections of exclusive (coherent) photoproduction J/ψ and ψ (2S) mesons in ultra-peripheral PbPb collisions at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of 5 . 02 TeV are measured using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 228 ± 10 μb − 1 , collected by the LHCb experiment in 2018. A bstract The decays B + → J / ψπ + π − K + are studied using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb − 1 collected with the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions between 2011 and 2018. Precise measurements of the ratios of branching fractions with the intermediate ψ 2 (3823), χ c1 (3872) and ψ(2S) states are reported. A bstract Searches are performed for a low-mass dimuon resonance, X , produced in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.1 fb − 1 and collected with the LHCb detector. A study of the lineshape of the $\chi_{c1}(3872)$ state is made using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3\,$fb$^{-1}$ collected in $pp$ collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8\,TeV with the LHCb detector. Candidate $\chi_{c1}(3872)$ and $\psi(2S)$ mesons from b-hadron decays are selected in the $ J/\psi \pi^+ \pi^-$ decay mode. The production of $\chi_{c1}(3872)$ and $\psi(2S)$ hadrons is studied as a function of charged particle multiplicity in $pp$ collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2 fb$^{-1}$. For both states, the fraction that is produced promptly at the collision vertex is found to decrease as charged particle multiplicity increases. The ratio of $\chi_{c1}(3872)$ to $\psi(2S)$ cross-sections for promptly produced particles is also found to decrease with multiplicity, ...
