Education is of inestimable importance for a person. The process of education implies the acquisition of knowledge and acquisition of skills and habits for developing abilities, forming a view of the world, as well as nurturing work on self-learning. However, there are also students with special educational needs who need to be included in the educational process. Inclusion is a new model of organized teaching and learning that implies not only the inclusion of children with disabilities in the ...

In this study, 20 heavy metals and trace elements (Al, As, B, Ba, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Li, Mg, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Si, Se, Sr and Zn) were analyzed in different tissues (muscle, liver, intestine, feather and bone) of the great cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) and in different tissues (muscle, liver, gills, kidney and gonad) of their main prey (common carp—Cyprinus carpio and Prussian carp—Carassius gibelio) during the nesting season. Cormorant and fish specimens were collected at the Ečka Fishing Farm ( ...

Pontic shad (Alosa immaculata Bennet 1835) is an anadromous species that lives in the heavily polluted north-western part of the Black Sea and migrates into the Danube River to spawn. To assess their heavy metal contamination levels, samples of Pontic shad were collected at 863 river kilometre of the Danube River. Muscle, liver and gill samples were prepared using microwave digestion, and the analysis of Al, As, Cd, Cu, B, Ba, Fe, Mg, Sr, Zn, Li, Co, Cr, Mn, Mo, Ni and Pb was performed with inductively- ...

In the majority of patients with a wide QRS complex and heart failure resistant to optimal medical therapy, cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) leads to reverse ventricular remodeling and possibly to changes in cardiac collagen synthesis and degradation. We investigated the relationship of biomarkers of myocardial collagen metabolism and volumetric response to CRT.We prospectively studied 46 heart failure patients (mean age 61±9 years, 87% male) who underwent CRT implantation. Plasma concentrations ...

Bacground/Aim. Increased values of thyroid hormones in the clinical syndrome of hyperthyreosis affect blood pressure values and its circadial variation. The aim of this study was to define the influence of hyperthyreosis on the values and circadial variations of arterial blood pressure, as well as to investigate the effect of thyroid surgery on blood pressure values. Methods. We compared the 24-hour averages of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, their variations and their reduction during the ...

The Danube River is 2,857 km long and navigable along the major part of its flow (2,411 km). Human activities have started to influence Danube River flow more significantly since the sixteenth century, through the flood prevention, navigation and hydropower plant construction activities. Two largest dams in the Danube, located at 943 river km ("Iron Gate I", constructed in 1970) and 863 river km ("Iron Gate II", constructed in 1984), have formed a large accumulation lake. These dams represent obstacles ...

A properly functioning musculoskeletal system is imperative for human well-being at every stage of life, including at an older age. This study's aim was to assess the relationship between sociodemographic and physical functioning variables and the presence of individual musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), MSD comorbidity, and multimorbidity, as well as to determine factors that are independent predictors of the presence of MSDs in people over 65 years old.
