Controlled growth of heterostructured nanowires and mechanisms of their formation have been actively studied during the last decades due to perspectives of their implementation. Here, we report on the self-catalyzed growth of axially heterostructured GaPN/GaP nanowires on Si(111) by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy. Nanowire composition and structural properties were examined by means of Raman microspectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. To study the optical properties of the synthesized ...

It was shown that rotational mobility of molecules in crystals is affected by the symmetry of their surroundings. A hypothesis was proposed for the discovered correlation. Three cases are possible for the location of the molecules with respect to the crystallographic symmetry elements: I – the location in a general position; II – the location in special positions without symmetry disordering; III – the location in special positions with symmetry disordering. According to the experimental data, the rotation ...

The non-thermal plasma pyrolysis of fuel oil, under the action of low-voltage electric discharges in the liquid phase, has made it possible to develop a new process to obtain valuable petrochemical products. In this study, the main parameters, including pulse energy and the time of impact on the non-thermal plasma pyrolysis process, are studied. The main components of the obtained gaseous products are hydrogen (27.6–49.6 mol%), acetylene (33.6–49.1 mol%), ethylene (6.9–12.1 mol%), methane (3.9–9.1 mol%), ...

The production of recombinant human granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (hG-CSF) for therapeutic purposes relies on its expression in selected clones of transfected mammalian cells. Alternatively, this protein can be produced by targeted secretion in the milk of transgenic goats. Thus, the aim of this study was to produce founder transgenic goats expressing hG-CSF and to propagate a transgenic production herd. After DNA microinjection of in vivo-produced pronuclear embryos was performed, two founders ...

An examination of the chiasma distribution in chromosome 1 of male mice homozygous and heterozygous for a distal inversion In(1) 12Rk and in normal males was carried out. No differences in chiasma distribution were found between homozygotes for the inversion and homozygotes for normal chromosome 1. A significant decrease in the frequency of bivalents bearing chiasmata in the pretelomeric region was found in heterozygotes. This, in its turn, produced a redistribution of chiasmata in the proximal ...

New data have been obtained from typical Permian–Triassic gabbro-granite suites from the Russian Altai. These suites were emplaced in an intraplate setting over a short period of time between 254 and 244 Ma concurrently with the formation of the Siberian and Khangai large igneous provinces (LIPs). While the sampled igneous rocks share some similar features, they also differ considerably in their mineralogy, petrography, major- and trace-element geochemistry, and Sr and Nd isotope systematics. Nanowire arrays were grown on Si substrate (111) by the plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy. Polydimethylsiloxane membrane encapsulation was used to obtain the free-standing NW arrays. The morphology of GaPN/GaP NW was investigated with scanning electron microscopy. Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanostructures are widely used in various fields of science and technology due to their properties and ease of fabrication. To achieve the desired characteristics for subsequent device application, it is necessary to develop growth methods allowing for control over the nanostructures' morphology and crystallinity governing their optical and electronic properties. In this work, we grow ZnO nanostructures via hydrothermal synthesis using surfactants that significantly affect the growth ...

Abstract This study aimed to characterize the dynamic of human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (hG-CSF) during artificial lactation in a transgenic founder goat and to assess its potential ectopic expression and health. The female secreted 93.9 to 1,474.6 µg hG-CSF per mL of milk. Two peaks of serum hG-CSF (3,470 and 7,390 pg/mL) were detected in the first half of the lactation. Outside of the lactation, hG-CSF was absent from serum, indicating no ectopic expression. During the treatment to ...

The ratios of inclusive electron scattering cross sections of $^4$He, $^{12}$C, and $^{56}$Fe to $^3$He have been measured for the first time. It is shown that these ratios are independent of $x_B$ at Q$^2>$1.4 (GeV/c)$^2$ for $x_B>$ 1.5 where the inclusive cross section depends primarily on the high-momentum components of the nuclear wave function. The observed scaling shows that the momentum distributions at high-momenta have the same shape for all nuclei and differ only by a scale factor. The observed onset ...
