Research was carried out the aim of which was to determine the optimum parameters in wet underwater welding with the MMAW and self-shielding flux-cored arc welding that minimize the appearance of cold cracks with the employment of the Implant test. Welding was carried out at three levels of heat input, of 12, 15 and 18 kJ/cm, for each level the amount of diffusible hydrogen and critical Implant stress being determined. In addition, hardness tests in the welded joint and HAZ were carried out, as ...

New dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes were obtained by the reaction of [MoO2(acac)2] with thiosemicarbazone ligands derived from 3-thiosemicarbazide and 4-(diethylamino)salicylaldehyde (H2L1), 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde (H2L2) or 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde (H2L3). In all complexes thiosemicarbazonato ligands are coordinated to molybdenum as tridentate ONS-donors. Octahedral coordination of each molybdenum atom is completed by methanol molecule (in 1a-3a) or by oxygen atom of Mo=O unit from the neighbouring ...

Background: Derangement of liver blood tests (LBT) is frequent in patients with Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). We aimed to evaluate (a) the prevalence of deranged LBT as well as their association with (b) clinical severity at admission and (c) 30-day outcomes among the hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Methods: Consecutive patients with COVID-19 hospitalized in the regional referral center over the 12-month period were included. Clinical severity of COVID-19 at hospital admission and 30-day ...

The paper describes synthesis of several novel thiosemicarbazone derivatives. Furthermore, crystal and molecular structure of 4-diethylamino-salicylaldehyde 4-phenylthiosemicarbazone revealed planarity of conjugated aromatic system, which suggested the possibility of DNA binding by intercalation, especially for here studied naphthalene derivatives. However, here presented DNA binding studies excluded this mode of action. Physicochemical and structural properties of novel derivatives were compared ...

Rat inferior caval vein (ICV) ligation (up to the right ovarian vein (ROV)) commonly represents a recapitulation of Virchow: with ligation leading to vessel injury, stasis, thrombosis and hemodynamic changes. We revealed that BPC 157's therapy collectively attenuated or counteracted all these events and the full syndrome. We applied BPC 157 (10 μg, 10 ng/kg) as an early regimen or as a delayed therapy. Assessment includes gross assessment by microcamera; microscopy, venography, bleeding, blood pressure, ...

Abstract One‐pot synthesis of new pentasubstituted triguanides 1a – e starting from the corresponding monosubstituted guanidine derivatives and diisopropylcarbodiimide is described and a mechanism for formation of the products observed is proposed. The structures of 1a – d were elucidated by spectroscopic analyses of their acetate salts. The structure of compound 1e was also confirmed by X‐ray crystallography using its sulfate salt. The X‐ray structure provided strong evidence of extensive electron ...

Abstract The application of adhesives in the joining of materials is limited not only by the impossibility of accurately calculating the strength of an adhesive bonded joint, but also by incomplete knowledge of effect of service conditions upon degradation of adhesive forces. This is particularly true for adhesive bonded joints intended for service in sea water. In the introductory part of the paper, the effects of liquids upon the strength of adhesive bonded joints are described as reported in ...

Despite the importance of hospital bed network during the pandemic, there are scarce data available regarding factors predictive of prolonged length of hospitalization of COVID-19 patients. We retrospectively analyzed a total of 5959 consecutive hospitalized COVID-19 patients in period 3/2020-6/2021 from a single tertiary-level institution. Prolonged hospitalization was defined as hospital stay > 21 days to account for mandatory isolation period in immunocompromised patients.Median length of hospital ...

Vessels, specifically ballast water and hull fouling, are a major vector for the introduction of non-indigenous species (NIS) in European seas. The Mediterranean is one of the world's marine regions where their invasion is heaviest. The shallow Adriatic basin is a highly sensitive area that is already experiencing its consequences. The secondary spread of NIS over a wider area through natural dispersion is a complex process that depends on a wide range of oceanographic factors. This work analysed ...
