The special education teacher is a key element in the development of the process of inclusive education. In this setting, soft skills have proven to be determinant in teachers’ educational action. However, those that best qualify their profile have not yet been identified. Therefore, this study aims to carry out a review of scientific production between the years 2010 and 2020. To this end, articles were selected using the following databases: ERIC, Scopus, Web of Science, and PsycINFO. Studies ...

The objective of this study was to investigate the presence of Enterococcus faecalis in endodontic infections by culture and polymerase chain reaction analyses.Microbial samples were obtained from 50 teeth with untreated necrotic pulps (primary infection) and from 50 teeth with failing endodontic treatment (secondary infection). Culture techniques were used including serial dilution, plating, incubation, and biochemical identification. For PCR detection, samples were analyzed using a species-specific ...

Neutrophils are prominent immune components of tumors, having either anti-tumor (N1) or pro-tumor activity (N2). Circulating neutrophils, divided into high density neutrophils (HDN) and low density neutrophils (LDN), functionally mirror those N1 and N2 cells, respectively. LDN are rare in non-pathological conditions, but frequent in cancer, exhibiting a pro-tumor phenotype. These findings have been mainly demonstrated in animal models, thus proper validation in humans is still imperative. Here, we observed ...

A new flavone, 4'-hydroxy-6,7-methylenedioxy-3-methoxyflavone 1, and two other nucleosides, ribavirin 2 and adenosine 3, were isolated from the leaves of Dulacia egleri. The nucleosides were identified by spectroscopic techniques (1D, 2D-NMR) while the structure of the flavonoid was established by 1D, 2D-NMR analysis, including HRESIMS data. The results obtained in the biological assays showed that the compound 1 was able to inhibit cathepsins B and L with IC50 of 14.88 ± 0.18 μM and 3.19 ± 0.07 μM, ...

The purpose of this study was to analyze the susceptibility of some anaerobic species isolated from a Brazilian population at different periods of time by determining a pattern of development of resistance to frequently prescribed antibiotics in endodontics.Root canal samples were collected from infected teeth at different periods of time (2000-2002, 2003-2005, and 2007-2008) and microbiologically identified with conventional culture techniques. The susceptibility of Prevotella intermedia/nigrescens, ...

Identification of specific bacteria in root canals (RCs) in distinct clinical conditions can support the comprehension of pathological processes. Thus, the objective of this clinical study was to investigate the presence of F. alocis in RCs of teeth with primary endodontic infection (PEI) and with persistent/secondary endodontic infection (SEI) by using molecular techniques. It was also aimed to associate its presence with the clinical features. In addition, the levels of F. alocis as well as the total ...

Optical and vibrational studies have been carried out on 60B2O3·(20−x)Na2O·10PbO·10Al2O3:xTiO2 (x=0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 mol%) glasses, in order to understand the role of TiO2 in the 60B2O3·20Na2O·10PbO·10Al2O3 glass matrix. The X-ray patterns reveal homogeneous glasses over the entire compositional range. The absorption spectra show that the energy of the optical band gap (ΔEopt) and Urbach's energy (EU) decreases as TiO2 content increases. The changes observed in the Raman and IR spectra are related ...

Native starch (Control) underwent various treatments: PEF at 30 kV cm-1 (PEF30), α-amylase at 9.0 U mg-1 (AA0), and a combination of both (PEF30 + α and α + PEF30). The PEF30 + α treatment exhibited the highest degree of digestion (10.66 %) and resulted in morphological changes in the starch granules, which ...
