We propose a technique of direct exfoliation of graphite with chitosan (CS) allowing to obtain graphene flakes in a polymer matrix. During the process chitosan macromolecules were converted into soluble forms by the addition of the acetic acid (Ac) and the asparagine acid (Asp). The acid selection was proven to have an influence on the electrical and the morphological properties of graphene-chitosan composites. The electrical resistance is changing by factor 2 depending on used acid. Graphene sheets ...

The article presents a method of controlling the size of droplets generated by a system that sprays a high-viscosity liquid containing particles of a solid body, i.e., a catalyst. The work is a continuation of previous research concerning the spraying of liquids with a catalyst, which improves the efficiency of the process. As a result of the conducted CFD calculations, it was found that to bring the catalyst to the system, a droplet with a diameter of at least 30 µm should be generated. The tests ...

We propose new graphene-chitosan solution as a saturable absorber for a mode-locked Erbium-doped fiber laser. We demonstrate stable, mode-locked operation with pulse as short as 168 fs, which are the shortest pulses generated from an Er-doped fiber laser with the use of graphene so far. Graphene-chitosan solution was obtained in soluble forms by the addition of the acetic acid. The ring laser is able to generate optical solitons centered at 1554 nm wavelength with 15.2 nm bandwidth and 63 MHz repetition ...

We demonstrate generation of linearly polarized pulses from a passively Q-switched Erbium-doped fiber laser. The cavity was designed using only polarization maintaining fibers and components, resulting in linearly polarized output beam with degree of polarization at the level of 97.6%. Reduced graphene oxide was used as a saturable absorber for Q-switched operation. The laser was capable of delivering 1.85 μs pulses with 125 nJ pulse energy at 115 kHz repetition rate.

Towards the end of the 20th century, the word “solidarity” became one of the most important and famous words, not only in the sphere of Euro–Atlantic civilization but the word was also readily used in political milieus. In the religious sphere, and especially in the Judeo–Christian tradition, the anthropological, ethical as well as biblical sense of this important concept was emphasized. This sense was recalled in the postulate: Bear one another’s burdens. Never one against the other, but always ...
