The objectives of this study were to determine the optimum phosphoric acid concentration that produces a PO4–ZrO2 catalyst with the best acidity and examine its performance in the catalytic hydroconversion of used palm cooking oil. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, FTIR, NH3–TPD, SAA, and FESEM–EDX Mapping. Research on phosphated silica (PO 4 /SiO 2 ) as a heterogeneous acid catalyst in the dehydration reaction of ethanol into diethyl ether has been carried out.
