The glycolamidic ester (‐O‐CH 2 ‐CO‐NH‐) was tested as labile linkage group in solid phase peptide synthesis using a polyacrylic resin and base‐cleavable fluor‐enylmethoxycarbonyl (FMOC) protecting group for α NH 2 . The local environment of Zr in a borosilicate glass has been investigated by combining molecular dynamics (MD) simulations with Zr $K$-edge x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) measurements. Two- and three-body distribution functions in agreement with the experimental data were obtained. MGD-1 is a 39-residue defensin-like peptide isolated from the edible Mediterranean mussel, Mytilus galloprovincialis. This peptide is characterized by the presence of four disulfide bonds. We report here its solid-phase synthesis and an easy way to improve the yield of the four native disulfide bonds. Some N-silylamides N-silylurethanes were studied by 29Si and 13C NMR. All the silylamides investigated exist in an amide-imidate equilibrium. The amide form is favoured by electron-donating groups at N and by decreasing temperatures. The free enthalpy of activation for the SiO - SiN exchange is 15.6 kcal mol−1 for N-p-tolyl-N-trimethylsilylacetamide. A novel biosensor based on the immobilization of commercially available tyrosinase onto carbon black paste electrode was developed.
