MRI plays a major role in the evaluation and treatment planning of bone tumors. It should be used following plain films and before biopsy. The MR appearance of most tumors is nonspecific; however, the entire extent of the tumor and its relationship to adjacent structures can be determined at MRI providing a road map for the surgeon. The role of dynamic enhancement is evolving and has not yet been determined.

There are financial and humanitarian consequences to unmet need amongst service users of high secure hospital care, not least in terms of length of stay. This article presents two reviews of high secure service user needs. They provide support for the sequencing of interventions to meet service user needs and the utility of a structured framework for their review. Through analyses of these reviews, eight domains of need were identified: Therapeutic Engagement, Risk Reduction, Education, Occupational, ...

Abstract We introduce a novel approach to identifying Web search user sessions based on the burstiness of users' activity. Our method is user‐centered rather than population‐centered or system‐centered and can be deployed in situations in which users choose to withhold personal content information. We adopt a hierarchical agglomerative clustering approach with a stopping criterion that is statistically motivated by users' activities. An evaluation based on extracts from AOL Search™ ...

Stress conditions, such as a block in fatty acid synthesis, signal bacterial cells to exit the cell cycle. Caulobacter crescentus FabH is a cell-cycle-regulated β-ketoacyl-acyl carrier protein synthase that initiates lipid biosynthesis and is essential for growth in rich media. To explore how C. crescentus responds to a block in lipid biosynthesis, we created a FabH-depletion strain. We found that FabH depletion blocks lipid biosynthesis in rich media and causes a cell cycle arrest that requires ...

The COVID-19 pandemic is putting unprecedented pressures on healthcare systems globally. Early insights have been made possible by rapid sharing of data from China and Italy. In the UK, we have rapidly mobilised inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) centres in order that preparations can be made to protect our patients and the clinical services they rely on. This is a novel coronavirus; much is unknown as to how it will affect people with IBD. We also lack information about the impact of different immunosuppressive ...

Management of large service centers and clouds requires adaptation to changing conditions and workload. Optimal deployments are possible on private clouds if there is full knowledge of the applications. Previous work, CloudOpt, combines large-scale linear optimization with a detailed non-linear performance model of every application to determine such deployments. However, when conditions change the new solution is independent of the previous deployment, and often requires excessive changes. Practical ...

Abstract An alternative, low-input production system for fresh market tomato was developed using strip tillage practices in conjunction with established bahiagrass pasture. The alternative system was designed to reduce the impact of soilborne pests, minimize agricultural inputs, improve soil conservation and optimize yields. Field experiments indicate that competition from bahiagrassfor nutrients within the tilled strips significantly impacted yield. Selective colonization of tomato roots by arbuscular ...

Hydrogen ion concentrations (pH) of the digestive tracts of channel catfish were determined for fish of two sizes (892 and 134 g average weight) at two environmental temperatures (28 and 23°C).
