Patients with reflux esophagitis (grade II or III, Savary–Miller, intention-to-treat, n=256, age range 19–82 years) were randomly assigned to a double-blind, double-dummy treatment with either pantoprazole 40 mg once daily or ranitidine 150 mg twice daily. AbstractYangambin, epiyangambin and episesartemin were isolated from the leaves of Ocotea duckei Vattimo. They were identified and characterized by mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry (1 H and 13 C) with the aid of two-dimensional techniques (1 H- 1 H COSY-45 and HMBC). The presence of epiyangambin and episesartemin in Ocotea duckei has not been previously reported.

A novel alkaloid named bowdichine (1), only the third with a diaza-adamantane skeleton containing an unusual N-acetyl enamine moiety, and the known alkaloids acosmine (2), ormosanine (3) and podopetaline (4) have been isolated from the stem bark of Bowdichia virgilioides. The structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral data, mainly 1D and 2D NMR of the diaza-adamantane alkaloids 1 and 2.
