今回のシンポジウムのきっかけとなったのは,2021年1月からアメリカ心理学会が開始した ”Leadership Learning Institute”という企画である。この企画は,世界中から,将来の指導者と嘱望される若手を集め,経験のある指導者とペアにし,研究プロジェクトを実施させるというものである。期間中,様々なテーマで講演イベントも開かれた。多くの国から各国1,2名の指導者,被指導者が参加し,6月にコロンビアのボゴタで開かれた “International Summit on Psychology and Global Health“の場で研究プロジェクトの発表会が開催された。この企画に日本からも,指導者,被指導者各2名が参加した。この企画は,ボゴタの会議以外は全てオンラインで行われた。オンラインでこそ実現できた企画,ひいては,コロナのおかげで実現できた企画と言えるかもしれない。本シンポジウムは,この企画に参加した日本とフィリピンの若手2名,指導者2名に体験と,そこから得たものについて語って貰い,同様なイベントをアジアで開催できる可能性を探ることを目的とする。
