Abstract GRB 030329 is the first Gamma-ray burst event for which a connection with a supernova (SN 2003dh) has been confirmed spectroscopically in its early phase. A highly functionalized cyclopentene carboxylic acid derivative, as an advanced synthetic intermediate of viridenomycin, was synthesized. The synthesis commenced with the previously reported highly functionalized tetrahydrofuran derivative prepared from d-glucose. The stereochemical confirmation of the present final compound was conducted by comparison with a compound synthesized very recently by the Meyers group.

電子製品の小型高密度化に伴い, 微細ピッチなFPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) による基板間の接続技術が必要となってきている。これまでに, 接続部の信頼性を確保するため, アルカンの体積膨張エネルギを用いたフラックスレス接合技術を研究してきた。今回はさらに, 電極接合と同時にFPC基材を溶融させて接着と封止を達成する接続技術を検討した。ポリエーテルイミド系基材のFPCを用い, アルカンを介在させると, アルカンがFPC基材へ浸透し, 樹脂全体が流動しない条件で接続と封止が可能であることがわかった。

We present optical and near infrared observations of GRB 080325 classified as a "Dark GRB". Near-infrared observations with Subaru/MOIRCS provided a clear detection of afterglow in Ks band, although no optical counterpart was reported. The flux ratio of rest-wavelength optical to X-ray bands of the afterglow indicates that the dust extinction along the line of sight to the afterglow is Av = 2.7 - 10 mag. The Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) is a new observatory for very high-energy (VHE) gamma rays. CTA has ambitions science goals, for which it is necessary to achieve full-sky coverage, to improve the sensitivity by about an order of magnitude, to span about four decades of energy, from a few tens of GeV to above 100 TeV with enhanced angular and energy resolutions over existing VHE gamma-ray observatories. Spectroscopic and spectropolarimetric observations of SN 2003dh/GRB 030329 obtained in 2003 May using the Subaru 8.2 m telescope are presented. The properties of the SN are investigated through a comparison with spectra of the Type Ic hypernovae SNe 1997ef and 1998bw.
