We construct the derived scheme of stable sheaves on a smooth projective variety via derived moduli of finite graded modules over a graded ring. We do this by dividing the derived scheme of actions of Ciocan-Fontanine and Kapranov by a suitable algebraic gauge group. We show that the natural notion of GIT-stability for graded modules reproduces stability for sheaves.

Given a smooth complex threefold X, we define the virtual motive $[\operatorname{Hilb}^{n}(X)]_{\operatorname {vir}}$ of the Hilbert scheme of n points on X. In the case when X is Calabi–Yau, $[\operatorname{Hilb}^{n}(X)]_{\operatorname{vir}}$ gives a motivic refinement of the n-point degree zero Donaldson–Thomas invariant of X. The key example is X=ℂ3, where the Hilbert scheme can be expressed as the critical locus of a regular function on a smooth variety, and its virtual motive is defined in terms of ...

We prove that Donaldson-Thomas type invariants are equal to weighted Euler characteristics of their moduli spaces. In particular, such invariants depend only on the scheme structure of the moduli space, not the symmetric obstruction theory used to define them.We also introduce new invariants generalizing Donaldson-Thomas type invariants to moduli problems with open moduli space. These are useful for computing Donaldson-Thomas type invariants over stratifications.M jX !X .Via the embedding M j X ,! Abstract. Let X be a smooth projective geometrically connected curve over a finite field with function field K . Let Gbe a connected semisimple group scheme over X . Under certain hypotheses we prove the equality of two numbers associated with G. The first is an arithmetic invariant, its Tamagawa number. The second is a geometric invariant, the number of connected components of the moduli stack of Gtorsors on X . Our results are most useful for studying connected components as much is known about Tamagawa ...

Let M and N be Lagrangian submanifolds of a complex symplectic manifold S. We construct a Gerstenhaber algebra structure on $$\mathcal{T}or_\ast^{\mathcal{O}_S}(\mathcal{O}_M,\mathcal{O}_N)$$ and a compatible Batalin–Vilkovisky module structure on $$\mathcal{E}xt^\ast_{\mathcal{O}_S}(\mathcal{O}_M,\mathcal{O}_N)$$ . This gives rise to a de Rham type cohomology theory for Lagrangian intersections.

In an earlier paper by one of us (Behrend), Donaldson-Thomas type invariants were expressed as certain weighted Euler characteristics of the moduli space. The Euler characteristic is weighted by a certain canonical ‫-ޚ‬valued constructible function on the moduli space. This constructible function associates to any point of the moduli space a certain invariant of the singularity of the space at the point. Here we evaluate this invariant for the case of a singularity that is an isolated point of a ‫ރ‬ * -action ...

We solve the part of the Donaldson-Thomas theory of Calabi-Yau threefolds which comes from super-rigid rational curves. As an application, we prove a version of the conjectural Gromov-Witten/Donaldson-Thomas correspondence of [MNOP] for contributions from super-rigid rational curves. In particular, we prove the full GW/DT correspondence for the quintic threefold in degrees one and two.

Let G be a split connected semisimple group over a field. We give a conjectural formula for the motivic class of the stack of G-bundles over a curve C, in terms of special values of the motivic zeta function of C. The formula is true if C=P1 or G=SLn. If k=C, upon applying the Poincaré or called the Serre characteristic by some authors the formula reduces to results of Teleman and Atiyah–Bott on the gauge group. If k=Fq, upon applying the counting measure, it reduces to the fact that the Tamagawa ...

We compute the fundamental groups of non-singular analytic Deligne-Mumford curves, classify the simply connected ones, and classify analytic Deligne-Mumford curves by their uniformization type. As a result, we find an explicit presentation of an arbitrary Deligne-Mumford curve as a quotient stack. Along the way, we compute the automorphism 2-groups of weighted projective stacks 𝒫(n1, n2, … nr). We also discuss connections with the theory of F-groups, 2-groups, and Bass-Serre theory of graphs of groups.

We introduce the notion of cofoliation on a stack. A cofoliation is a change of the differentiable structure which amounts to giving a full representable smooth epimorphism. Cofoliations are uniquely determined by their associated Lie algebroids. Cofoliations on stacks arise from flat connections on groupoids. Connections on groupoids generalize connections on gerbes and bundles in a natural way. A flat connection on a groupoid is an integrable distribution of the morphism space compatible with ...

We describe an approach to calculating the cohomology rings of stable map spaces. The method we use is due to Akildiz-Carrell and employs a C^*-action and a vector field which is equivariant with respect to this C^*-action. We give an explicit description of the big Bialynicky-Birula cell of the C^*-action on Mbar_00(P^n,d) as a vector bundle on Mbar_0d. This is used to calculate explicitly the cohomology ring of Mbar_00(P^n,d) in the cases d=2 and d=3. Of particular interest is the case as n approaches ...

We study the action of the inertia operator on the motivic Hall algebra, and prove that it is diagonalizable. This leads to a filtration of the Hall algebra, whose associated graded algebra is commutative. In particular, the degree 1 subspace forms a Lie algebra, which we call the Lie algebra of virtually indecomposable elements, following Joyce. We prove that the integral of virtually indecomposable elements admits an Euler characteristic specialization. In order to take advantage of the fact that ...

Abstract We prove that dg manifolds of finite positive amplitude, that is, bundles of positively graded curved $L_{\infty }[1]$-algebras, form a category of fibrant objects. As a main step in the proof, we obtain a factorization theorem using path spaces. First we construct an infinite-dimensional factorization of a diagonal morphism using actual path spaces motivated by the AKSZ construction. Then we cut down to finite dimensions using the Fiorenza-Manetti method. The main ingredient in our method ...

Abstract Fever is the most common reason that children present to Emergency Departments. Clinical signs and symptoms suggestive of bacterial infection are often non-specific, and there is no definitive test for the accurate diagnosis of infection. The ‘omics’ approaches to identifying biomarkers from the host-response to bacterial infection are promising. In this study, lipidomic analysis was carried out with plasma samples obtained from febrile children with confirmed bacterial infection (n = 20) and ...
