The assessment of groundwater quality was carried out by taking the shallow wells samples near the bank of River Indus at the downstream Kotri barrage; the study area covers the arid region of Hyderabad, Sindh. The space occupied by the wells was about 1-2 km used for the quantification of geochemical characteristics of the shallow aquifer that lies on the left side of the river. A total of 13 groundwater samples were collected during pre-monsoon and post-monsoon seasons. All the groundwater samples ...

Magnetic particle imaging (MPI) requires optimized tracers with monodisperse magnetic nanoparticle (MNP) cores. Organic phase routes to core synthesis are most promising, but require a subsequent phase transfer step to add a biocompatible, water-soluble coating. This transfer process can potentially produce dimers or clusters of magnetic cores that are not resolved by routine hydrodynamic size measurements. Here, we present systematic dynamic magnetic investigations on nominally single-core MNPs with ...

In an attempt to suppress the dark current, the barrier layer engineer for solution-processed PbSe colloidal quantum-dot (CQD) photodetectors has been investigated in the present study. It was found that the dark current can be significantly suppressed by implementing two types of carrier blocking layers, namely, hole blocking layer and electron blocking layer, sandwiched in between two active PbSe CQD layers. Meanwhile no adverse impact has been observed for the photo current. Our study suggests ...

The contamination of water with extensive metal concentrations has been an extraordinary harmful and have unfriendly impact on environment. Biosorption is one of the natural treatments that have raised innovation for the removal of metal from fluid and is found more ecological friendly. The removal of trace metal concentrations from wastewater by using bioadsorbent prepared from the fish scales was determined during this study. Biosorption treatment was used by the application of fish scale to remove, ...

The focus of the present study was to examine the effect of canal bank filtration on the quality of water and the geological settings along the banks of canals at the shallow depth aquifers. The four Model wells were drilled at different locations of the Line channel, Pinyari and phulali canals in the study area. The samples of soil were collected throughout drilling of the model wells for the analysis of grain size distribution .In addition to this, canal water and model well water samples were ...

The current study is focused on biofuel production from local specie of algae. Initially samples were observed to identify the algal specie. Afterward oil was extracted from algae by Soxhlet extraction method, retention time was optimized to improve the yield of oil at different intervals. The recovered oil from algae was subjected to qualitative analysis by Gas Chromatography. Four major peaks were appeared on GC chromatogram which correspond to methyl esters of dodecanoic acid, tetradecanoic acid, ...

This study was conducted to understand the performance of riverbed sediments; river sand was taken from the downstream Kotri barrage for the preparation of filtration bed to treat the wastewater for the removal of bulk water pollutants. The river sand group-A was applied to filter the wastewater under aerobic conditions of the experiments at lab scale. The filtration model was designed to filter water through gravity and suction flow process. The six attempts of sampling and analysis were conducted ...
