Abstract Novel P *‐monodentate diamidophosphite ligands have been prepared by a one‐step phosphorylation of alcohols or amines. Both the electronic and the steric demands of the ligands have been estimated quantitatively. Neutral [Pd(allyl)Cl(L)] and cationic [Pd(allyl)(L) 2 ] + BF 4 − complexes have been obtained by starting from [Pd(allyl)Cl] 2 . The new ligands have demonstrated high enantioselectivity in the Pd‐catalysed allylic substitution reactions of 1,3‐diphenylallyl acetate with NaSO 2 p Tol (up to ...

The Glafirinskoe and related skarn Cu-Au (+Mo, W) deposits represent an Early Paleozoic (Late Cambrian to very early Ordovician) mineralization in the Altaid Belt, also known as the Central Asian Orogenic Belt. They are associated with multiphase plutons of high-K calc-alkaline to shoshonitic rocks that are related to a low-degree partial melting of metasomatically-enriched upper mantle, followed by amphibole fractionation in a deep (lower crustal ?) magma chamber and then by magma fractionation and emplacement ...

In this work, the solution conformations of seventeen 3,7-diacyl bispidines were studied by means of NMR spectroscopy including VT NMR experiments. The acyl groups included alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, hetaryl, and ferrocene moieties. The presence of syn/anti-isomers and their ratios were estimated, and some reasons explaining experimental facts were formulated. In particular, all aliphatic and heterocyclic units in the acylic R(CO) fragments led to an increased content of the syn-form in DMSO-d6 solutions. ...

Quaternary gramines were found to be a suitable source of the 3-methylindole fragment for diastereoselective alkylation. The best yields and stereoselectivity were obtained for the alkylation of a chiral William’s morpholinone enolate. Based on this transformation, a general method for the synthesis of enantiopure, indole ring substituted tryptophan derivatives was developed with good overall yields.

The pathogenic Gram-positive bacterium Listeria monocytogenes has been evolving into a few phylogenetic lineages. Phylogenetically defined substitutions were described in the L. monocytogenes virulence factor InlB, which mediates active invasion into mammalian cells via interactions with surface receptors c-Met and gC1q-R. InlB internalin domain (idInlB) is central to interactions with c-Met. Here we compared activity of purified recombinant idInlB isoforms characteristic for L. monocytogenes phylogenetic ...

Analysis of the precursors of bacterial exported proteins revealed that those having bulky hydrophobic residues at position −5 have a high incidence of Pro residues at positions −6 and −4, Val at position −3, and Ser at positions −4 and −2. This led to a hypothesis that the previously observed inhibition of processing by bulky residues at position −5 can be suppressed by introduction of Pro, Ser, or Val in the corresponding nearby positions. Subsequent mutational analysis of Escherichia coli alkaline phosphatase ...

Abstract Piezoresponse force microscopy (PFM) provides a novel opportunity to detect picometer-level displacements induced by an electric field applied through a conducting tip of an atomic force microscope (AFM). Recently, it was discovered that superb vertical sensitivity provided by PFM is high enough to monitor electric-field-induced ionic displacements in solids, the technique being referred to as electrochemical strain microscopy (ESM). ESM has been implemented only in multi-frequency detection ...

New chiral P,N-hybrid aryl phosphites have been obtained by one-step phosphorylation of amino and imino alcohols. Complexation of the new ligands with [Rh(CO)2Cl]2, [Pd(COD)Cl2] and [Pd(allyl)Cl]2 was found to give chelate complexes [Rh(CO)Cl(η2-P∩N)], [PdCl2(η2-P∩N)] and [Pd(allyl)(η2-P∩N)]+Cl−, respectively. With these new P,N-ligands, up to 82% ee enantioselectivity was achieved in the Pd-catalysed alkylation of ethyl 3-penten-2-yl carbonate with dimethyl malonate, up to 80% ee in the Pd-catalysed ...

Abstract We consider a mathematical model related to reconstruction of cardiac electrical activity from ECG measurements on the body surface. An application of recent developments in solving boundary value problems for elliptic and parabolic equations in Sobolev type spaces allows us to obtain uniqueness theorems for the model. The obtained results can be used as a sound basis for creating numerical methods for non‐invasive mapping of the heart.

This article describes the solution of two problems. First, based on the fractional diffusion equation, a boundary problem with arbitrary values of derivative indicators was formulated and solved, describing more general cases than existing solutions. Secondly, from the consideration of the probability schemes of transitions between states of the process, which can be observed in complex systems, a fractional-differential equation of the telegraph type with multiples is obtained (in time: β, 2β, ...

New chiral diamidophosphite ligands containing electron-donating 9-meta-carborane and electron-withdrawing 1-meta-carborane substituents have been synthesized. The ligand 3a with an electron-donating group demonstrated high enantioselectivity in Pd-catalyzed allylic substitution reactions with C-, S- and N-nucleophiles (up to 98% ee). The isomeric diamidophosphite 3b bearing an electron-withdrawing substituent showed in all cases, moderate-to-poor conversion and lower enantioselectivity.
