Pigmented Bowen's disease is rare, though more prevalent in men. It presents as a well-delineated plaque in areas unexposed to sun. There are reports of association with seborrheic keratosis, solar lentigo or exuberant pigmentation of genital and intertriginous regions. A specific dermoscopy finding is the presence of brown or gray dots in regular arrangement and coiled or dotted vessels. Thus, we aim to raise awareness of the diagnosis of pigmented Bowen's disease in pigmented lesions.

The functional properties of a novel extracellular polysaccharide (EPS) produced by Pseudomonas oleovorans grown on glycerol byproduct, generated by the biodiesel industry, were investigated. The EPS is a high molecular weight (4.6 × 106) heteropolysaccharide, composed by neutral sugars (galactose, 68%; mannose, 17%; glucose, 13%; rhamnose, 2%; fucose, 4%) and acyl groups (3.04%). Twenty-seven nitrated and non-nitrated compounds have been synthesized and tested for their growth inhibitory activity on three human cancer cells lines. Fourteen compounds were able to inhibit more than 50% of the growth of at least one of the cancer cell lines and five compounds exhibited high antiproliferative activity on human cancer cell lines (IC50 < 8.5 μM).
