Individuals with Asperger's Disorder (ASP) have difficulties in social reciprocity and in providing appropriate cooperative behavior. The Prisoner's Dilemma (PD) is a well-known model in game theory that illustrates the paradoxical disposition of interaction between two individuals with opposing interests, and may be a useful tool in the diagnosis of ASP in early childhood. In this study, we investigated the cognitive characteristics of ASP by using a modified PD game. The subjects were 29 individuals ...

The Sixth All Africa Games were held in Zimbabwe in September 1995. A voluntary physiotherapy service was provided to guest athletes. Data was gathered relating to onset, mechanism, region and management of injuries. During the 10-day period of the games, 541 treatments were performed on 258 guest athletes. The onset of injury in 35.3% of cases was prior to the start of the games. Overuse was the most common mechanism of injury and 24% of injuries were in the chronic stage. The lower limb was the ...

The 2020 Olympic/Paralympic Games have been postponed to 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We developed a model that integrated source–environment–receptor pathways to evaluate how preventive efforts can reduce the infection risk among spectators at the opening ceremony of Tokyo Olympic Games. We simulated viral loads of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) emitted from infectors through talking/coughing/sneezing and modeled temporal environmental behaviors, including virus ...

GLOBAL simulation/games are role-playing exercises, simulating processes of international negotiation. If a GLOBAL simulation/game is conducted under a "perfect" grand design based on well-formulated "predictions" prepared by a group of modeling experts, the GLOBAL simulation/game may become just a repeated prediction or even a repeated "belief' shared by this particular group of experts. Therefore, it seems preferable and more suitable to the nature of GLOBAL simulation/games to create afuture scenario ...

Social relationships are a key determinant of social behaviour, and disruption of social behaviour is a major symptom of several psychiatric disorders. However, few studies have analysed social relationships among multiple individuals in a group or how social relationships within a group influence the behaviour of members with impaired socialisation. Green roofs are considered effective in the reduction of atmospheric CO2 because of their ability to reduce energy consumption of buildings and sequester carbon in plants and substrates. However, green roof system components (substrate, water proofing membrane, etc.) may cause CO2 emissions during their life cycle. Therefore, to assess the CO2-payoff for extensive green roofs, we calculated CO2 payback time it takes their CO2 sequestration and reduction to offset the CO2 emitted during its production ...

The feature of XCSB is to learn only best actions having the highest predicted payoff with the high accuracy unlike XCS which learns actions having the highest and lowest predicted payoff with the high accuracy. To investigate the effectiveness of XCSB, we applied XCSB to two benchmark problems: multiplexer problem as a single step problem and maze problem as a multi ...

This paper introduces a reinforcement learning technique with an internal reward for a multi-agent cooperation task. The proposed methods is an extension of Q-learning which changes the ordinary (external) reward to the internal reward for agent-cooperation. Specifically, we propose here two Q-learning methods, both of which employ the internal reward for the less or no communication. To guarantee the effectiveness of the proposed methods, we theoretically derived the mechanisms that solve the following ...
