This paper proposes a hybrid neuro-evolutive algorithm (NEA) that uses a compact indirect encoding scheme (IES) for representing its genotypes (a set of ten production rules of a Lindenmayer System with memory), moreover has the ability to reuse the genotypes and automatically build modular, hierarchical and recurrent neural networks. A genetic algorithm (GA) evolves a Lindenmayer System (L-System) that is used to design the neural network's architecture. This basic neural codification confers scalability ...

The aim of this study is to simulate a network traffic analyzer that is part of an Intrusion Detection System - IDS, the main focus of research is data mining and for this type of application the steps that precede the data mining : data preparation (possibly involving cleaning data, data transformations, selecting subsets of records, data normalization) are considered fundamental for a good performance of the classifiers during the data mining stage. In this context, this paper discusses and presents ...

This paper concerns with existence, uniqueness and asymptotic behavior of the solutions for a nonlocal coupled system of reaction-diffusion. We prove the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions by the Faedo-Galerkin method and exponential decay of solutions by the classic energy method. We improve the results obtained by Chipot-Lovato and Menezes for coupled systems. A numerical scheme is presented.

Herein, a robust docking protocol was developed by using a low-cost workflow to highlight the modulation at ATPase domain from Human Topoisomerase-IIα (TOP2A) towards four novel Pd(II)-complexes bearing N,S-donor ligands. In vitro TOP2A inhibition assay confirmed the ability of them to prevent the enzyme functions into concentration ranging at 6.25-25μM. These results exhibited more effectivity than anticancer agent etoposide (35μM) and merbarone (40-50μM). The compounds were screened via Resazurin ...

This work deals with two new molecule-based materials, namely NiII-complexes of general formulae [Ni(L1)2] (Ni1) and [Ni(L2)2] (Ni2), where L1 = trans-cinnamaldehyde-N(4)-methyl thiosemicarbazone and L2 = trans-cinnamaldehyde-N(4)-ethyl thiosemicarbazone, as potential antitumor agents. Both compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity and spectroscopic techniques (FTIR and NMR). Their molecular structures were obtained by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Each one crystallizes ...

A class of rotaxane is created, not by encapsulating a conventional linear thread, but rather by wrapping a large cucurbit[10]uril macrocycle about a three-dimensional, cylindrical, nanosized, self-assembled supramolecular helicate as the axle. The resulting pseudo-rotaxane is readily converted into a proper interlocked rotaxane by adding branch points to the helicate strands that form the surface of the cylinder (like branches and roots on a tree trunk). The supramolecular cylinder that forms the ...

In this paper we consider the Bresse system with past history acting in the shear angle displacement. We show the exponential decay of the solution if and only if the wave speeds are the same. On the contrary, we show that the Bresse system is polynomial stable with optimal decay rate. The systems of equations considered here introduce new mathematical difficulties in order to determine the asymptotic behavior. As far as the authors know, there have been no contributions made in this sense.

Early and late blight are the most important foliar diseases of tomato and potato crops in Brazil. Decision support systems (DSS) are important tools in reducing the large amount of fungicides applied to suppress disease intensity. Systems developed for early or late blight were validated in two cropping seasons under Brazilian conditions. For tomato early blight, FAST, CUFAST, and TOMCAST systems were compared in the spring–summer (September–December) (SS) 2002 and summer–autumn (January–April) (SA) ...

In this paper, we study the stability of solutions for Kirchhoff plates equations with a memory condition working at the boundary. We show that such dissipation is strong enough to produce exponential decay to the solution, provided the relaxation functions also decays exponentially. When the relaxation functions decays polynomially, we show that the solution decays polynomially and with the same rate.

We consider a Timoshenko system with memory condition at the boundary and we study the asymptotic behavior of the corresponding solutions. We prove that the energy decay with the same rate of decay of the relaxation functions, that is, the energy decays exponentially when the relaxation functions decays exponentially and polynomially when the relaxation functions decays polynomially.

When the relaxation function decays polynomially, we show that the solution decays polynomially and with the same rate.
