본 연구에서는 인천 1호선 구간을 대상으로 2009년 집계된 스마트카드 데이터를 활용해 승객좌석점유(혼잡도)와 정시성 지표를 사용하여 도시철도 서비스를 평가하였다. 차량단위의 대중교통 서비스 평가를 위해 개별 이용객의 스마트카드 데이터를 스케줄에 의해 운행되는 차량단위로 집합화하였다. 분석결과 인천 1호선 하행선(계양 ${\rightarrow}$ 국제업무지구)의 오전 첨두 시간대(7시-9시)의 차내 혼잡과 차량의 정시도착 측면에서 낮은 서비스 수준을 보이는 것으로 분석되었다. 차내 혼잡도와 정시성 간에는 밀접한 연관성이 있으며 이는 이전 역에서의 높은 승객수요가 지속적인 열차의 연착을 발생시키는 것으로 분석되었다.
