A new type of binaphthyl-based chiral iodide functionalized at positions 8 and 8' of the naphthalene rings has been found as a promising structural motif for the asymmetric hypervalent iodine(III) oxidations, specifically, for the dearomatizing spirocyclization of naphthol carboxylic acids showing expectedly better enantioselectivities versus other atropisomeric biaryls, i.e., a conventionally used binaphthalene having the diiodides in the minor groove.

The specific mechanisms of nonalcoholic fatty liver (NAFL) and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) pathogenesis remain unknown. In the present study we investigated the differences between NAFL and NASH in terms of liver lipid metabolites and serum lipoprotein. A novel spectrophotometric method was established for the determination of spermine based on color complex formation among vanillylfluorone, cobalt(II) and spermine in the presence of stearyltrimethylammonium chloride. In the determination of spermine, Beer's low was obeyed in the range of 0.04 - 1.0 μg mL−1. The effective molar absorptivity at 615 nm and the relative standard deviation were 2.2 × 105 L mol−1 cm−1 and 2.5 % (n = 5), respectively.

アシタバ含有カルコン誘導体の4-Hydroxyderricin(以後{Hy}とする)及びXanthoangelol(以後{Xa}とする)を用いるチタン(IV)の新規吸光光度法を開発した.{Hy}の場合,モル吸光係数(ε)は,ε=6.24×104 L mol-1 cm-1,相対標準偏差(RSD)は0.65%(n=6),{Xa}の場合ε=6.02×104 L mol-1 cm-1,RSD=0.53%(n=6)であった.{Hy}と{Xa}は共に,従来のチタン(IV)吸光光度法に比べ,共存物質の影響も極めて受けにくく,選択性にも優れている.また,本法を,酸化チタン含有用品中のチタン(IV)分析に応用したところ,測定値,回収率とも良好な結果が得ることができた.これらの天然色素が分析用有機試薬として十分利用できることを認めた.
