Abstract Adoptively transferred T cells and agents designed to block the CD47–SIRPα axis are promising cancer therapeutics that activate distinct arms of the immune system 1,2 . Here we administered anti-CD47 antibodies in combination with adoptively transferred T cells with the goal of enhancing antitumour efficacy but observed abrogated therapeutic benefit due to rapid macrophage-mediated clearance of T cells expressing chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) or engineered T cell receptors. Anti-CD47-antibody- ...

Hospitalist productivity and compensation are complex topics. Hospitalist clinical work is rapidly evolving with increasingly complex patients and hospital systems, all paired with unpredictable and often high workloads. Hospitalist clinical roles have evolved, sometimes incorporating high-value but low productivity duties (e.g., triagist) in addition to the ever-expanding clinical reach. Hospitalist financing has also evolved with increasing direct costs to hospitals, which may incentivize hospitals ...

Approximately 60% of patients with large B cell lymphoma treated with chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapies targeting CD19 experience disease progression, and neurotoxicity remains a challenge. Biomarkers associated with resistance and toxicity are limited. In this study, single-cell proteomic profiling of circulating CAR T cells in 32 patients treated with CD19-CAR identified that CD4+Helios+ CAR T cells on day 7 after infusion are associated with progressive disease and less severe neurotoxicity. ...
