In 1943, Imura described an aphasic syndrome shown by Japanese patients and designated it as Gogi ("word-meaning") aphasia. Salient features are selective impairment of processing kanji or Chinese characters and difficulty in finding access to the lexicon in both production and reception, with preservation of processing kana or phonetic signs, and fluent oral repetition. A patient with this syndrome is presented, with emphasis on the nature of his kanji impairment. Cases of Gogi aphasia in the literature ...

The ability to depress the resonance intensity of (23)Na in rat liver tissue was not found in the supernatant fraction. It was exclusively localized in particulate fractions. The results strongly suggest that the (23)Na signal of tissue reflects quadrupole interactions and does not result from a slow exchange between the free and bound ...

A new silica-supported chromium complex catalyst for ethylene trimerization having high activity and high selectivity is presented. The catalyst was prepared by supporting tris[bis(trimethylsilyl)amido]Cr(III) Cr[N(SiMe3)2]3 and isobutylalumoxane on silica calcined at 600 °C. The catalyst containing 1.0 wt.% Cr with an isobutylalumoxane/Cr molar ratio of 24 gave a 74.2% 1-hexene selectivity at an activity of 3170 g/(mmol Cr h) in heptane solvent at 120 °C and 0.7 MPa ethylene partial pressure. The X-ray crystallographic structure of 1 revealed its propeller-like structure similar to those of the reported rare earth analogues. The complex 1 showed moderate catalytic activities for ethylene polymerization upon activation with modified methylaluminoxane (MMAO) and with diethylaluminum chloride. Similar reaction of CrCl3 with 1 yielded the corresponding chromium(III) complex, Cr2[(NtBuSiMe2)2O]3 (3). The dinuclear structure of 3 was revealed by X-ray crystallography, in which the disiloxanediamido ligand can be regarded as an N,N-bidentate ligand. Abstract The catalysis of a silica‐supported chromium system {Cr[CH(SiMe 3 ) 2 ] 3 /SiO 2 } was compared with a silica‐supported chromium oxide catalyst, the Phillips catalyst (CrO 3 /SiO 2 ). This catalyst was prepared by the calcining of the typical silica support used for the Phillips catalyst at 600 °C and by the support of tris[bis(trimethylsilyl)methyl]chromium(III) {Cr[CH(SiMe 3 ) 2 ] 3 } on the silica. In the slurry‐phase polymerization, this catalyst conducted the polymerization of ethylene at a high activity ...

All of the inclusions are intensely altered, mainly producing feldspathoids and albite, CaO depletion and minor Ti-rich compounds, such as Ti-sulfides. The alteration assemblages and FeO-poor spinel suggest that the reactions took place under reducing ...
