In modern capital market the price of a stock is often considered to be highly volatile and unpredictable because of various social, financial, political and other dynamic factors. With calculated and thoughtful investment, stock market can ensure a handsome profit with minimal capital investment, while incorrect prediction can easily bring catastrophic financial loss to the investors. This paper introduces the application of a recently introduced machine learning model - the Transformer model, to ...

Abstract The purpose of our study was to explore potential characteristic biomarkers in patients with sepsis. Peripheral blood specimens from sepsis patients and normal human volunteers were processed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry-based analysis. Outlier data were excluded by principal component analysis and orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis using the metabolomics R software package metaX and MetaboAnalyst 5.0 ( https://www.metaboanalyst.ca/home.xhtml ) online analysis ...

Wheat is the most widely grown and consumed crop because of its economic and social benefits. This crop is more important globally for food and feed, and its productivity is particularly vulnerable to abiotic factors. In this study, 40 wheat genotypes were studied to access the drought tolerance level using completely randomized design (CRD) in 250 ml disposable cups through morpho-physiological attributes at seedling stage. The wheat germplasm was tested under normal and two drought stress level ...

Genome-wide association study (GWAS) was performed for stomata- and yield-related attributes with high-density Illumina 90 K Infinium SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism) array in bread wheat to determine genetic potential of germplasm for scarce water resources with sustainable yield potential. Major yield and stomata attributes were phenotyped on a panel of Pakistani and foreign accessions grown in non-stressed and water shortage environments during two seasons. Highly significant variations were ...

The decrease in water resources is a serious threat to food security world-wide. In this regard, a genome-wide association study (GWAS) was conducted to identify grain yield and quality-related genes/loci under normal and water-deficit conditions. Highly significant differences were exhibited among genotypes under both conditions for all studied traits. Water-deficit stress caused a reduction in grains yield and an increase in grains protein contents (GPC) and gluten contents (GLC). Population structure ...

Renal fibrosis is a frequently occurring type of chronic kidney disease that can cause end-stage renal disease. It has been verified that emodin or HGF can inhibit the development of renal fibrosis. However, the antifibrotic effect of emodin in combination with HGF remains unclear.Cell viability was detected with CCK8. Gene and protein expression in HK2 cells was detected by qRT-PCR and Western blot, respectively. Moreover, a unilateral ureteral obstruction-induced mouse model of renal fibrosis ...

Abstract Glioma is the most common malignant tumor in the human central nervous system. Although heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A2/B1 (hnRNPA2/B1) was previously presumed to be a tumor-promoting gene, the relationship between hnRNPA2/B1 and glioma is unclear. Targeting hnRNPA2/B1 interference in glioma cells can significantly inhibit proliferation and increase apoptosis of human glioma cells in vitro. In a tumor xenograft model, knockdown of hnRNPA2/B1 suppressed tumor growth in glioma cells ...

Tranexamic acid shows some treatment efficacy for traumatic brain injury. This systematic review and meta-analysis is conducted to investigate the efficacy of tranexamic acid for traumatic brain injury. The databases including PubMed, EMbase, Web of science, EBSCO, and Cochrane library databases are systematically searched for collecting the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) regarding the efficacy of tranexamic acid for traumatic brain injury. This meta-analysis has included six RCTs. Compared ...

BACKGROUND Septic shock occurs when sepsis is associated with critically low blood pressure, and has a high mortality rate. This study aimed to undertake a bioinformatics analysis of gene expression profiles for risk prediction in septic shock. MATERIAL AND METHODS Two good quality datasets associated with septic shock were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database, GSE64457 and GSE57065. Patients with septic shock had both sepsis and hypotension, and a normal control group was included. ...

Genetic diversity is the base of any genetic improvement breeding program aimed at stress breeding. The variability among breeding materials is of primary importance in the achievements of a good crop production. Herein, 105 wheat genotypes were screened against drought stress using factorial completely randomized design at seedling stage to determine the genetic diversity and traits association conferring drought tolerance. Analysis of variances revealed that all the studied parameters differed ...

Plants cope with thermo-stress by increased expression of heat shock genes. These genes encode various heat shock proteins (HSPs) which rapidly accumulate and protect plants following hasty heat stress.Heat shock transcription factors (HSFs) primarily regulate expression of HSP genes by deciphering conserved binding motifs in promoter region. We retrieved HSF genes of Arabidopsis and chickpea from the online data bases and analyzed their structure and properties using bioinformatics tools. Here, we reported ...

We present a parameter optimized alternating-direction implicit (ADI)-finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. This parameter optimized ADI-FDTD algorithm can minimize the dispersion error for arbitrary incident angles and for different time-step sizes. Stability analysis shows that this algorithm is unconditionally stable if proper parameter values are chosen. Dispersion analysis illustrates the reduced dispersion error of this algorithm.
