This past quarter has witnessed an increase in impact from malicious codes, especially blended threats travelling via email attachments. Their penetration is increasing noticeably, partially because workstation users do not seem to have taken to heart some fundamental principles of email security. These users fall prey to the temptations of social engineering and end up sending system administrators scrambling to resolve problems that could easily have been avoided.
